Loved this version as David seems to be able to tell the real story behind this amazing song. Original version is sweet etc but this one sounds like you would imagine how God would sound as he looks at the mess we've made of the world, especially today. Very powerful version ...loved it. Someone somewhere said that Simon and Garfunkel’s version is depressed about humans lack of emotional communication, that Disturbed’s version is angry and Pentatonix version is a hopeful plea. I think I agree with that I actually love all three versions. And Travis I Love your shirt

David Draiman...amazing voice!! A powerful yet soulful voice that can go from warm baritone to angelic tenor, from clear as a crystal to rasp/distortion/vocal fry and back on a dime, which is incredibly difficult to do and he makes it look so damn easy! He has a timbre in his voice that I've never heard before........just hauntingly beautiful and pure tonal properties to it! An awesome talent. Loved your reaction and your take on the performance Travis!

As another poster had said before, the original Simon & Garfunkel version was a warning of what would come, the Disturbed version is angry that we didn't listen to the warning, and Pentatonix offers hope that it's not to late to heed the warning. Thank you for reacting! (Oh, and just an aside...I love your T-shirt!)

He is Jewish and was trained to be a cantor in the temple. His grandfather actually disowned him for a long time when he became a heavy metal singer. You definitely should check out more of them. A Reason To Fight is about fighting inner demons. All of their songs have a meaning.

Hey!!! you know what is truly amazing that he did this with ONE voice where Pentatonix needed 5. Think about that for a minute. David Draiman (born in my neighborhood in Brooklyn) to orthodox Jewish parents. He went to Yeshiva and because he came from a long line of temple cantors, they saw the potential in his voice and that's what they wanted him to do. Obviously, he went a separate way.

Disturbed is a Heavy Metal Band and their most famous song (prior to this) is probably "Down With the Sickness". As others have mentioned, David is a classically trained vocalist. They deviated from their Heavy Metal playbook for this song, but of course he did add the growl at the end which I noticed gave you ½ Mitch-face lol.

Disturbed has several remarkable songs of their own that does not fall into the heavy metal category. One being "Hold on to Memories" the official live video that is amazing and so very touching. Another one is "Reason to Fight" the official live video that is preformed at all their concerts to advocate the prevention of drug abuse, depression and suicide. Very touching the affect it has on the people at their concerts.

Singer: David Draiman, Keyboards and also is lead guitarist: Dan Donegan, Bass guitar: Johnny Moyer, Drums: Mike Wengren Disturbed is a heavy metal band. Their signature song is Down With the Sickness. It's fantastic. Also, Hold Onto Memories- another very poignant, beautiful song that is not their typical style.

"Down with the Sickness" is another song were David demonstrates his ability to go from a pure-tone Tenor to a primal screech and back again in an instant. That style caught my attention when I first started listening to them.

Ever since it was first released by Simon & Garfunkle (yes, I am that old!!!), “The Sounds of Silence” has always been one of my all-time favorite songs. I loved Disturbed's version when I first heard it (the official video for it is great), thought the tone of his singing more reflected the meaning of the lyrics. Then I heard the Pentatonix version and that became my favorite, it kind of combined the Disturbed and S&G versions into one beautiful creation. Glad that you did reactions for both versions. As usual, love your reactions to the music…

Honestly, as much as I love both Pentatonix AND Simon & Garfunkel, the original performers of this song, this is my favorite live performance of this song, hands down. It's just so powerful!! And I know Disturbed, so I know David Draiman has more power than he showed here, but he showed JUST enough and it's SO GOOD!!! I'm so glad you reacted to this, that makes me happy. Another band more like this is Jinjer. It's a female lead and I would start with their Pisces live one take.

This is my favourite version of this song! I had never heard the song before but was a fan of Disturbed. David's voice is just amazing! This version to me lets the instruments tell the story and the Original video visually tells the story and both are amazing. Not sure if it was mentioned but Paul Simon said that its David's (Disturbs) Song now. Its the only link Paul ever shared on his personal page. That says something right there. Hold on to Memories is a tear jerker and just David's voice makes it so moving. Also the live version of a Reason to Fight very moving. I never get tired of watching these reactions!

Love the t-shirt - "Hocus Pocus" is hilarious. I prefer the "official video" for this. Partly because he was sick during this performance and I can hear it, but also because I feel that an immense amount of effort went into creating it and it deserves respect. It's an amazing video, beautifully crafted. A lot of reactors prefer the "live" versions, and I can understand the thinking, but if a "professional" video is made I feel it should be seen.

I'll echo what other's have already said: Hold onto Memories showcases the softer side of Distrubed's music. Down with the sickness is a popular one that's metal. Inside the Fire (I think that's the right title... haha) is about suicide, so very dark, but he straight up uses it to talk about getting help for suicide and his experience with a girlfriend dying from suicide as a teen. I just appreciate the opening to it and all. Oh! and Who taught you how to hate is another good song, but is also fairly dark! Basically, I love a lot of their music, but can't remember titles so can't tell you which are best. lol
