Hello everyone!
In this video we will be reviewing the Fitfort Ftiness Tracker, which is a blood pressure monitoring watch! I was really intrigued to find out that a BP monitoring watch exists, especially because it is only $32 on Amazon! (as of 8/20/20)
I was honestly pretty impressed with the results!

Hello everyone! Thank you all for watching the video. I just wanted to let you all know that as I mentioned in this video, I bought this for my uncle. I made this video of me testing it and gave my opinion on its performance. I thought it was pretty accurate (as seen on video). However, when I gave it to my uncle, we actually found that it was really inaccurate on him. He has high blood pressure and wanted to be able to measure it 24/7. Well, it turns out the watch was completely off on him - and yes, we did calibrate it on him. Not sure if this watch is maybe not intended for people with high blood pressure, or it "worked" with me because mine is pretty average. Either way - I would not recommend getting this watch if you suffer from blood pressure. Instead, I would get an FDA approved one instead: omronhealthcare.com/products/heartguide-wearable-blood-pressure-monitor-bp8000m/?gclid=CjwKCAjwgviIBhBkEiwA10D2j13JHcTIHpI8O_y_XH3PCy0xaGFDQuEt0bhiNEBFWBNnthOZFElc8xoCUMUQAvD_BwE

It seems to me that any watch that claims to measure blood pressure without using an inflatable cuff to stop blood flow is a hoax and false advertising.

This review is helpful. In my mind, only the Omron watch was accurate. It’s good to know there are reliable BP watches in the market.
@TheBMELife
@TheBMELife 3 жыл бұрын
b Lose I would love to try the Omron one out! To be completely honest, although I was initially impressed with this bp watch, giving it to my uncle to try turned out to not be so accurate. The accuracy is fine when monitoring a stable bp, but when it came to his, which goes to ~180/38 after exercise, it was NOT accurate at all. We ended up having to return it 😕

@ninjanerdstudent6937

The most accurate way to take a BP reading is to listen for the sounds in a stethoscope while releasing the air from a cuff. It’s tough to perform on yourself if even possible.

Huh? This doesn't make sense. You can't measure blood pressure with sound. Well, *maybe* you could with some advanced equipment, but certainly not with the human hear. The only reason one would listen while ALSO CHECKING blood pressure is to obtain pulse. That's literally the only reason. Nothing else is achieved. Unless I'm drunk and in some parallel dimension... But anything is possible... *Except for hearing blood pressure*

The denominator is supposed to be the value of the monitor rather than that of the watch, right? btw! I super love this video! It is so encouraging* to see that a young bme knows how to apply the things you have learned in bme to your life and world problems and that of others! Makes me want to do that too! Btw! the mistake I mentioned is really just a question cause I am not super used to the formula I just googled it rn

Do you feel anything when you are just using the watch? Is there any sound like a blood pressure machine? I have really bad white coat syndrome, so I panic and it creates high blood pressure. So I am thinking if it's very quiet then I won't panic and I can get an accurate reading.
@TheBMELife

It does not make any noise at all while wearing the watch. However, after using this watch for longer periods of time, I would not recommend its use, especially if you have a medical condition. It turned out to not be very accurate :/
@jhndijkman
@jhndijkman 2 жыл бұрын
Great video. But I have one problem with your testing. You have the monitor sleave on the same arm as the watch. I wonder wether that could effect results. But I have to say that the results are close enough for me to think that the watch is a viable reliable device.
@TheBMELife
@TheBMELife 2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! I've gotten this comment before. I did not think of this at the moment, but makes total sense. And actually, if you see my pinned comment, the watch turned out to be not so accurate when worn by someone with hypertension. With me it was "accurate" because my BP is "normal". But it did not really do a great job at measuring pressures outside the "normal" ranges, unfortunately.

@@TheBMELife Yes, I think it's because the Brachial artery is in this region and the opening of the inflation tube should be positioned there to pick up the sound of the pulse. As pressure is applied the pulse is cut off and when it is released it resumes. These points are measured and used to determine the systolic and diastolic pressures. This is my understanding but I'm not a doctor so maybe one can comment?

To test calibration, you would have to use someone with hypertension. If with medication the blood pressure were 170:95, and with medication 125:75 that would provide a good test for your watch. Without a large variation range, one cannot say anything about the results or the quality of the bp measurement. Without that, you are not testing the bp meter... you are just testing the reproducibility of the calibration.

interesting, I was looking for a legit video about smartwatch that could monitor blood pressure , but it was so hard to find. Thank you so much. I still can't believe is working not so bad. I have high blood preasue an is pain in an a... to use regular devices to truck it and I should do it 3 time a day , I am to lazy to do that, but with this watch it will be much more easier. I don't know why they are not advertising it more, is like is just not perfect and they need to test it more before it will be approve as a medical device.

Most of the less expensive smart bands don't actually measure blood pressure. They assign a number based on the detected heart rate. That isn't a problem for people with normal blood pressure, but it doesn't work for people with abnormal blood pressure.

Reason for discrepant results is that you were measuring blood simultaneously from both device on same arm. The way blood pressure is monitored is need of external pressure device to stop blood flow and record pressure at the time blood flow resume. Hence device without external pressure mechanism will not be accurate.

I used to use the chest strap / wrist strap watch and learned they are most accurate for HR. But I prefer to wear a just a wrist strap monitor. The whole chest strap is annoying. And I prefer to wear a wrist monitor on opposite arm as my arm with REAL “attractive” watch….Cus frankly, all smart watches are ugly. Watches are meant for looking cool and telling the time, NOT for answering messages or checking weather, with those stupid fake minute and second hands, or digital numbers on a screens. Yuk 🤮 . But I digress. I’m thinking of trying this little inexpensive monitor you so thoroughly and asmrishly reviewed. My BP has to lowered by this video. Haha Anyways, Well done and thanks.
