This is good to know. I have had my GH6 for less than a week and I have had two gigs, both live theatre. I was using it in conjunction with a GH5 and a GH5 ii. The GH6 was equipped with the Panasonic 35-100. The autofocus worked very well and it was very consistent. The only time it lost focus was occasionally when the lights went down between screens.

Just a note, in the top right corner of your LCD, the MF stands for manual focus. You can still quick autofocus in MF (perhaps it is a switch on your lens?) but whenever you see that MF, even if the autofocus knob is on C, then you are in manual focus. The detections also don't seem to work at 4k 120fps, but that is the trade off of having auto at 4k 120 overall I suppose.

Disabling VFR when in a VFR available video format should allow for auto focus. Also if memory serves me, auto focus will not be available in frame rates above 120 either.

Hi Felipe, your tests are amazing. I would like to use the GH6 in AF and I would like to use it to shoot everything, without ever taking it off. I shoot V-Log, 4K, (ALL-I 600Mbps), 10bit, 4:2:2, 50p and I'd like to ask 2 questions please: 1) I put the level on AFC. I would like to use AF in everyday life. It annoys me when he occasionally stutters to seek focus. How would you configure Sensitivity and Speed? 2) When I go to Menu/AF Mode and use "Full Area", why do I have to use the focus handle like when I use "1 Area"? Thanks for your advice.

Also tracking is not availible in some frame rates . What is your success w autofocus prores 5.k in general? I have issues 5.7 60 prores. I use gimbal and mostly reason is to slow down footage. Does not work for tracking except in 30fps . Do you know the best settings when not being able to adjust setting when on a gimbal? I like c4k 30 60 120, also prores 30 60. THANK YOU
