I agree with a stronger strap. I lost my miband 4 or 5 while going on a lake trip and diving say 30-40 feet. Sad to see it go

I use the 8 pro in CN version in Germany. It's great and there is no need to wait for the global version. I use with english speech for weeks and never eher had a problem.

The reason why i like the new strap is because unlike the previous models, the strap doesent easily come off. For example, once I had a Mi Band 4, there was an instance where I was enjoying the beach, but when the waves came, the watch popped out of the strap, which could have gone horrible if I didn't catch it. The Mi Band 8, however, eliminates this issue because it doesent allow the band to come off without unlocking the lock underneath.

thats true, but the new strap still lacks quality since my gold version strap quickly got yellow marks (I haven't put it even in the water) and they don't coming off with washing.

It.counts everything automatically. No need for a phone around. As for the active edition - it is a more basic one.

Edit: got both, step counter is amazing on both watches, the biggest difference are the functions in the app and watch itself, you can customize the normal band a bit more, e.g. it shows how long your battery will last, approximately. So yea if you only want a step counter get the active, display is also bigger.

Always loved the simplicity and athestetics of the Miband. The only thing I hated was the strap always coming undone in everyday life. I think it's a terrible designed strap. That said I want a miband 8

I am using Xiaomi Smart Band 8 paired with Redmi note 11 via Mi Fit app. My band is working perfectly fine but the issue i am facing that Mi Fit app continuously counting steps from mobile pedometer thus the app is giving incorrect results. Infact its calculating steps while i am driving. Please guide me how to stop it or can i use Mi Band with other apps to avoid this issue.

Does anyone know if it's possible to change the suggested time intervals in the timer? Can you adjust the vibration length in the timer? Setting the timer on Mi Band 8 is currently a nightmare. In Mi Band 4 or Mi Band 6, it was easy and straightforward. After the countdown finished, you could easily restart it with a single press. In the new band, this isn't possible. If you manually set the time, you have to go through all the timer settings each time to set it again. Is there a way to change this? Can you set any custom time to be displayed in the suggested buttons?

At this point of time it is what it is. The Band 8 is made by another vendor and some of the apps are slightly different.

Hi. I am using Mi band 8 for the last 10 days. I intend to primarily use it as necklace but I am yet to receive the accessories for the same from China. Have you used it as pebble or as necklace yet? One thing I want to bring out is about accuracy. I have been using Band 6 for the last 2 years and never had any issue. Now for the sake of comparison and while still waiting for the necklace accessories, I am using band 8 on my left wrist and band 6 on my right wrist and the step & calories count are way different. I am confused. Band 8 has consistently given much lower values everyday and every single time. Have you experienced the difference?

Band 8 is manufactured by another company, ao it could be that they have slightly different algorithms.

Are you right handed? If yes then it should answer your question. Since you move your right hand more so the counting are higher on miband 6. Every slight move are count as steps and burn calories. While your left hand are more passive so it's give lower values.

Honestly, if I were to but a tracker I would get the xiaomi again. I used to have the mi band 3 and I upgraded to a garmin venu sq. I laid 150€ and I am not totally happy with it. The metrics seem to be accurate and I needed the bigger screen but I don’t like the interface and although you can download external widgets I haven’t been happy with the offerings. So next time I need a smart band I will probably go back to xiaomi.

Coming from mi band 5 then upgraded to garmin venu sq 2, I can say that the mi band 5 is much more accrurate (well for me) in terms of tracking of sleep & steps which are the most important for me to track daily. I’m planning to buy the mi band 8 so I’ll have comparison again, but most probably will stick to mi band 8 when I got it because it’s much comfortable to wear when sleeping.

i had a bunch of replacement bands but the watch wasnt held in secure and once it even popped out and dropped in the toilet. so the new system might work better

there is none, the NFC only works in china with chinese banks, so only the chinese version has it

Xiaomi's app is terrible, but Notify for Mi Band works like a charm for this purpose. I don't know if it supports the Band 8, but for the Mi Band 7 I'm using it without any problem.

The sleep sensor on the mi band 8 is terrible. The sleep data is no way near accurate and the heart rate too.

@AimAiring For me, I find it accurate. It records the exact time I slept, and the exact time I wake up, it does make errors sometimes, but overall, it's good

I have accidentally unlocked my watch during football, which caused the screen to crack. Still wearing it, and still experience the unlocking. I've started using a small black elastic keeping it all together.

Not sure how vluetooth was for others on the miband7. For me my samsung a32 stopped having proper wifi connectio. If used bkuetoorh and the band non-stop. My ijternet speed was crawling, hardly anything will load. Each time i deactive the vluetooth, wifi would ve up to apeed again. This will happen on any network or wifi connection. No matter the location. Reported this dozens of times. But thiw comoany has no customer aervice. Like most brands feom china shipping outside to Europe and usa and other countries.
