Power consumption as per data from this video would approx be as:- 22°c- 700 watt 24°c- 550 watt 26°c- 420 watt 28°c- 350 watt
@TechGuyCharlie
@TechGuyCharlie Жыл бұрын
That is correct, but the power consumption also depends on the outside temperature and the size of your room, if its 44*C outside then its gonna use 700-1000watts even at 28*C in the afternoon. Night time power consumption is quite low.

insightful. just moved back into our house a month ago and got an inverter AC installed into my rebuilt room. been using it a lot since it's pretty hot where I am, but also noticed I didn't need to push the temp to the lowest to cool my room. been wondering if running it at 22-24C compared to how I used to run it at 18C would make a difference, and this little experiment gave me that insight without having to do the whole process myself. many thanks. now I just need to see the electric bill in june to see how much that will be affected.

Great in-depth reviews! Learned a lot about my unit thru your channel. 💜 Thank you for making these kind of vids. ☺️ I have few questions if you may, 1. Will there be a significant increase in power consumption if you also use the special functions (e.g., ion generator mode, etc.) of the AC? 2. What is your recommended settings? a) cool mode at 26C b) auto operation mode c) energy saving function? Hehehe sorry for the lengthy post. Take care!
@TechGuyCharlie
@TechGuyCharlie 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much Benny, I always read each and every comment, even if its lengthy 😁 Okay, let me try and answer: 1. Extra features like Ionizer don't use that much power and should not have any impact on energy consumption. 2. I run the AC in just normal cool mode at 26, sometimes I run the AC with energy saver set at 40% power when its not that hot outside. so it really depends on how the weather is like, but for this test, I ran the AC in Cool mode at 22, 24 and 26 at medium fan, except at night when sleep mode is on. I hope this helps. 😊

Hi Charlie, For Inverter AC, there is power consumption to maintain the temperature as compressor is always on. In non-inverter, I notice the power consumption is still high when the compressor is off. Can you explain which other component in the non-inverter AC is consuming such a high power? Or what is the expected power consumption in just FAN mode?

Hi Charlie. Would you know what’s the minimum and maximum cooling capacity in terms of watts? The figure that’s been given i.e 6300 is the rated capacity. Any idea about it?
@datco4507
@datco4507 4 ай бұрын
6300 is the Cooling capacity not the Power consumption. If you want to know the wattage, divide the cooling capacity with power rating. Eg. If your EER is 5.20 divide 6300 with 5.20 which gives 1211 watts at max cooling.

What if I lower the temperature to 18 degrees while outside temperature is 30-35 degrees C, then once the room is chill after 20-25 minutes, I switch off the AC for the next 5-6 hours (in case of night time) or for the next 1-2 hours (for during day time)? It's a 1.2 ton non-inverter AC, in a 120 sq ft room in case that's relevant.

@TechGuyCharlie
@TechGuyCharlie 3 жыл бұрын
Actually, it consumes even less power than 40% at night I have seen the power consumption as low as 300-350 watts at 40% 2Ton AC runs at 660-850 watts and 1.5Ton runs at 500watts, so its even lower than that. But if you run the AC at 22 on a really hot day then the AC wont be able to maintain 22, as it needs more power than 800 watts to cool down to 22. I might try running the AC at 40% during the day when its 40+ degrees outside and post the result.
