This would work nicely with CD4026 IC’s and common cathode 7 segment led displays to count people, cars, etc.

How do you define long-range? I need something that can detect objects 150 to 250 feet away.

@@Bocha666 .. How would a photoresistor work to remotely determine proximity and distance? So far, I haven't found a solution. A laser ruler for building construction is the closest I've seen (distance & direction), but linking that to a computer is beyond me. Wired, not Bluetooth, is critical.

Kya isko uv light detect krne k liye bana sakte hai.. IR LED ki jarurat nahi hai.. sirf reading LED rakhna hai.. aur usko R.O water system k UV lamp on /off detect krna hai.. becoz ye lamp kabhi bhi fuse ho jata hai aur bahar se pata nahi chalta.. plz suggestion de...

I made exactly same circuit(changed the IR LED polarity of course), but still I am getting the range about 10cm only, not sure what is missing, could you advise?

I assume so, it uses IR light, meaning infrared, which should not be bothered by UV light

I need one that tells me the proximity like a car sensor does, in meters. I need it to work from 4 mts to 0 . It is to use in an agriculture aircraft, to make our life easier. Could you make something like that and let me try it?

i have completed the circuit. after connecting 3.7v of battery led glows. Also calibrated the 10k pot but IR sensors not responding. How to check with the alternatives. please suggest

I know hardly anything but, I think he means like a photocell. Think of lights on and off with sundown and sunup. Or like the high line cars have had for years, dims the headlights when approaching on coming traffic or well lit areas. That’s what I think it means anyway.

Tried this and the LED is always Lit, even if I remove the IR transmitter, the LED is still lit. Please help, I cant figure out what seems to be the problem. Thank you.

Change the IR receiver polarity it's working while in diagram the polarity is not true of the receiver. So.... Change IR receiver polarity it's 100% work..👍👍
