I know a board and screws are cheap, i bought a REI 8ft collapsing tent pole $40 and 6 rubber/silicone twist ties for Harbor Freight $6, this worked very good, stiff rod for support, quick collapsing, the ties hold it all together.

@@TechMadeEzy Yea, sure 400w is nice and all, but knowing what I know now I would not have gone with that. I would much rather have gotten 4x 100w flexible panels at a fraction of the size and weight. To be fair. EcoFlow panels are great at producting electricity... but the 400w panel is just TOO bulky to be really useful

My Delta Pro had a board go out (which EcoFlow replaced at no charge) but I was told not to leave the solar panel plugged in when the light was low as this could damage the unit. Very inconvenient to have to monitor the solar wattage and unplug the panel every day!

You certainly get a "thumbs-up" outta me. I subscribed a while ago. These are some of the best real-world videos. We live in eastern Canada ...& just got the panels delivered yesterday. The Delta 2 Max units are on the way. We went with a pair of them & four, 400-watt panels. I will have them mounted permanently on a fixture where I can access them. I expect they'll shed snow & even frozen rain & ice due to the flexing nature & our wind. But question how well they hold up in a windy ...snowy ...cold winter here? Have you any viewers in our climes that may know?

I will tell you after using the 400 watt panel for a few months straight folding it back up putting it back out multiple times I did start to show some wear. As far as snowy weather and your other concern I can't help you there but thank you for watching the video and I'm glad it helped, thanks for subscribing welcome to the family 😎

I just got this panel in today, and hooked up the stand in an open area of my house. The grommets in the panel are already stretching out after just a few minutes. Making the board with eyelets to hook the carabiners to will help this poor design. Thank you for sharing this information and giving credit to the fellow you got the idea from. A couple of thoughts. 1. Use eye bolts so you can hook up the carabiners more securely. 2. Make a complete rectangular frame. It will not add much weight and it will always be flat.

Also. You can find a Home Depot hard plastic pieces that you could cut in half and then Hinge them each. This would allow you to fold then up and place them in the bag or have a separate small bag to attach to the existing.

I am going to try those wiring tool fiberglass rods, and a few metal paperclips, to see if stability and firmness can be provided for the top of the 4-across panels. The default sagging appearance and ready-to-fall aspect is disappointing, but it is said to be portable (at 42lbs, NOT the stated 34lbs). There can be a slight benefit to having the outer 2 panels sagging back a bit, but even so, more stability would seem to be nicer.

I bought two of the 400w Ecoflow panels with the Delta Pro - and gave them away. They were horrible to work with...I notice this reviewer didn't show the actual setup - that's because they are beyond awkward and heavy. As a woman with no assistance, I couldn't get them to set up correctly. Without a strong support (I had to use a wall) - they simply fell over. The cardboard case that is supposed to support them is a joke. You should NOT have to personally BUILD a framework for these panels when they are charging $1150 for them. This gentleman had some skills to wrestle them into place. The thing is - he shouldn't have had to.

An easy and also a light construction I made to hold the panels straight: I used six pieces of 1"x1"" wood, made them 110 cm long, three hinges screwed at the top made three pairs that will be easy to adjust to any angel. Then I put three long 1"x 2" , (mine are 190 cm , my panel is just 160w, but still feels big and too flexible)which will support the panel from behind. One of the long woods (can also be a 1"1", I screwed on the top place of the three parallelles, then I make four loops from a rope and put on this top wood, this is to secure the panel by clicking on the OOOO (what are they called in English...) into the loops. The two other long woods are supporting the panel horisontally, the panel leans on them, so the should be 1"2" screwed on flat. I can easely move my panel around, and also change the angel.

Great idea when camping... Soup can ! LoL! You must remind us viewers on the Voltage as well as the Amps or Watts of the individual panels, and the max input voltages and amps of these portable power supplies. Why I mention this is because the power box I got from China, the Y2000 does not allow panel voltage above 24! I know, unbelievable, right?! I had to find out why I got nothing... With 3 series sets of 2x18v 120 Watt panels until I decided to PARALLEL THEM!!

Thanks for showing how to set up the panels. I watched a newer video from someone who compared them to other brands. The panels are good and perform very well for output. However the set up is the worst of all tested on that video. I have mine on order and am a little disappointed that they don't come with the connector with the XT60I for full power to the Ecoflow Delta 2 I just purchased. One of the other brands of panels used a foldable tent pole to stiffen the assembly. I'll have to see if that might work when I get mine. Otherwise I'm satisfied with my Ecoflow purchases. I do wish they would have included the connection with either the Delta 2 or the panels though.

Thank you for the video. I have the same exact system. I love how when you set up the solar panel it just magically popped into place. 😂😂😂 It would’ve been great to see you struggle trying to get it in the standing up position by yourself and hooking it to the case. And then I would love to have seen you, pulling the bottom part out towards the front and getting it into position and hooking those clamps in the holes. But the bottom of the panel also magically popped into place. You didn’t show you actually doing it. 😂😂😂 You said it was easy, but I find it to be a major pain in the ass. It’s very heavy, very cumbersome and wily, and not easy to stand it up and put it together. Cheers. 😅😅😅

Nice test - panels look great. would've been good if you did a quick tape measurement in the very beginning so us newbies could see what the length and width are especially since these are such huge units. Also I liked the amp & voltage test with the multimeter, wish you had done that when both panels were hooked up together. The Eco website says to stay under 15 amps when charging - would've been good to see some real test results on both panels.

Hi all, So....I have a hack that I literally just thought of for people who can't afford another Delta Pro or extra battery BUT need additional power and own another ecoflow battery. I have called ecoflow and given them the idea as well and they confirmed that it will in fact work!! I then asked them why they don't tell everyone after I've told them and they said they would "escalate the idea" to their top tier and perhaps add it to their FAQs. So here's the idea: We've been told that you must have like systems in order to use them together. This is NOT actually true. If your Delta Pro is low on power (or any other ecoflow system you have) you can simply plug its charging cable (in the rear) into the front of the secondary system. In other words you're using the second system as a wall outlet of sorts. This works especially well in the evening when the sun is down and there is no more backup energy. What do you do when the sun is up?...even better...plus the second system from the rear into the front of the Delta Pro. This allows the sun to charge them BOTH regardless of the differences of their capacities or sizes!!! The only word of caution they gave me after saying what a great idea this was, was to say don't forget to lower the charging speed on the Delta Pro once it's plugged into the front of the second system. Guys this means you can use anything from a River and up to charge your Delta Pro OR any other ecoflow system. If this works for you please like my comment and say "Thanks T!!" just so I'll know at least I was able to communicate something helpful to the solar community-especially since these systems are sooooo expensive!!

This is really great info! Thank you for sharing it! I work for an eco-flow distributor and the boss is letting me build a system for my shuttle bus at cost, so I’m trying to figure out which eco-flow panels I can fit onto my bus in order to maximize my solar gain! I’m wondering if you could answer a question for me, since I can’t find the answer elsewhere. I really appreciated the partial shading test you did in your 220W bi-facial video, and I’m wondering if you have done, or would be willing to do the same test with this folding 400W panel? If the faces are connected in parallel and can be shaded like the 220 can, it means that I can stow the panels partially folded for travel, and still expect some real power from them while traveling. Because of your other video, I now know that the bi-facial panels could work for something like this, but the dimensions of these 400W panels work better for the fixed dimensions of my bus, so I really want to know if these panels also put out roughly half power when folded in half. I just subscribed to this channel and would love to see you do that test, if you haven’t already! Thank you!

Okay stop saying these cases do a good job. They don't if you have to jerry-rig these things, which seems to be the case for every person who reviews these panels, then they're bad designs. Panels are perfectly fine. But consistently echo flow has a serious issue with their overall designs. Perfect example of this is their extra battery cable is too damn short. Meaning you can't stack them. I don't know what it is with their engineers but they seem to spend more time on making it look pretty than making it functional

You can just buy longer cables. I can include a link below, but be careful don’t go too far. The cables I’m sending you are 10 awg that’s a good thickness I wouldn’t go past 40 feet amzn.to/3Q1pywH

Nice video, but you completely omitted any info on the cable that connects the panel to the battery. Did it come with the solar panel from EcoFlow? Or did it come with the batter? Or did you buy it separately?
@TechMadeEzy

Ecoflow initially didn't include the solar cable with the panel, as of recently they now do. Also i use additional 10 Guage cable to put the solar panel out further usually 40 foot cable.

I enjoy watching your videos. Help me think about something. Using the pro and the smart home panel I am wanting to see if I can charge it with 4 x 400w = 1600w. The thought process I have is to use series and parallel in order to stay under the 150 v max. Please let me know if you have any videos on this topic and/or if you know of any reason why it would not work. Thanks so much.

Ron thank you so much I haven’t posted any videos on how to combine parallel with series, that’s the way you would accomplish staying under 150v I recommend going on Facebook and looking at the EcoFlow Delta Facebook group there are a bunch of people in there and I’m sure they could help you with that. I’m getting so much better with solar but that’s one answer I don’t have and I must be honest with you

Sorry for the dumb question but will these be better than a generator? Could I run a regular fridge and a 110 ac unit or 2 and lights in my house. I know nothing about kWh and how to visualize how much it is. Would 2 panels be able to replenish the batteries while fridge and ac units are running?
@TechMadeEzy
@TechMadeEzy Ай бұрын
Trying not to get complicated it really all starts with the power station. You have to understand your power needs first and that's not easy because most of us don't know what an electric dryer uses or toaster or a microwave etc. Once you understand your power needs you buy the correct power station making sure that it is powerful enough to run your appliances and then you have enough battery capacity for run time.

Very nice and clear video. Thanks for sharing, quite appreciated. I bought the exact same setup as yours. Delta Pro + Solar panel 400 W. I am wondering if you could give me a clue or two to make it work properly. I am reading 44V from the 400W solar panel temporarily installed in my solarium. I am just puzzled to see that the Delta Pro is still showing 000W input. Your advice might be welcomed.

Hi See page 13 of the manual, not sure if this link will work see below for the manual, I personally don’t discharge any more than 10% and I don’t charge more than 90%. You’ll hear a lot of conflicting messages about lithium iron phosphate some might tell you to charge 100% for LFP but I don’t. So the decision is yours. But definitely check the manual so you follow the storage and maintenance on the device or you can avoid the warranty. I hope this information helps you. websiteoss.ecoflow.com/cms/upload/2022/10/12/1312845623_1665543468829.pdf
