UPGRADE SSD + HDD with CADDY CASE in Lenovo G50-80 in HINDI by TECHNICAL ASTHA

9.5mm caddy working perfectly for Lenovo G50-80 First, I inserted SSD in caddy, then cloned OS from HDD to SSD using MiniTool Partition. Then swapped HDD and SSD i.e. HDD in caddy. And it booted without any problem, and no BIOS changes required.

@@pavantech2540 Take out the SSD and caddy, check whether the SSD is placed correctly and is not loose anywhere. Then reinsert (it is a little tight fit so be careful) Use the tiny button just on the right of your charging point on laptop to switch it on. In BIOS, check if it is showing both SSD and HDD. For me also it didn't show in first attempt, I had to do everything again and reinsert.

The exact procedure requires that the HD is cloned on the SSD. For safety, start the PC with the ssd disk that you cloned and if all is well, format the old HD and mount it in the caddy.

After installing hdd in caddy all worked well. But after some days I had issues of system freeze. Then I removed caddy. Now only using ssd in bay. Working fine . But no use of caddy. What to do?

Yes, but it will affect performance. Usually DVD writer slot is sata 2.

@@DeepakKumar-nn1tt yes it did. But don't insert caddy at first.remove dvd tray and hdd and install ssd in place of hdd and install os and then install caddy.

No use of this work because the most important part of the laptop i.e. dvd writer has been removed.

yes of course , but you can use external dvd writer kzfaq.info/get/bejne/q8p1jZSU2tiRcWQ.html
