Nice to hear a "techno" mix that actually sounds like the genre of electronic dance music that's actually called "techno". Try typing the word "techno" into Pandora or something (or even into KZfaq), and so much of what you start hearing is some other electronic dance music genre that's not actually techno. "Techno", as a genre of EDM, is quite distinct from other forms of EDM. It's very repetitive and therefore very much loop-based (more so than other forms of EDM), with no real distinct melody or obvious chord progressions, and with a very heavy 4-on-the-floor beat. To add variation into the repetitive sound, instead of changing chords like in other genres, techno uses effects processing like reverb, low-pass and high-pass filters, delays, and so on. Sometimes there might be a short break from the repeated patterns, in some cases, like in the form of a short vocal phrase or something, then the repeated patterns come back in. These things are typically what I think of when I think of "techno". Seems to me too many people use the word "techno" to describe any and all forms of electronic music, which isn't really correct.
