It's because he mixed his own beats with the most important bits of the actual song. Many people try this and they just screw up, this dude nailed it.

Incredible that it's an instrumental and it works so well, even without the iconic voice and sound effects. Also love how you incorporated "It Has Begun" from the More Kombat album :) excellent choice, made by a true fan

The way the orchestral hits first come in is very reminiscent of the way they would edit the song for fight sequences in the actual 1995 movie. I would hear the song change up like that during the henchman battle in Goro's lair or the Shang Tsung fight in the end of the movie and be like "Wait, that's not how the song went...."
