I'm pretty sure they did this to keep people from complaining about app functionality and support calls. If a person has figured out how to install good lock you can assume they are relatively tech savvy and those types of people already have read into the pro's and cons of installing good lock and the things you may encounter using unverified apps on the home screen. Kudos to Motorola for doing it right from the beginning.

Thank you so much for this instructive video. By following your tutorial and installing Good Lock, my cover screen has additional widgets with apps to play with, without having to open the phone. I added my Google Photos, Google Mail, my security cameras and Messenger. I am enjoying my Samsung Z Flip 5, now more than ever, and hardly ever have to open the phone, which I appreciate.

I agree with you. I just put my sim card into my flip 5 this morning. I took it out of my razr +. Front screen on razr + is awesome. Z flip 5, not so much. But ill rock z flip 5 for a couple weeks and see. Thanks for your vids!

I would guess you have heard of Good Lock before this. Cause with it you can completely charge your whole Samsung phone anyway you like. Yes maybe Samsung should have made the front screen to get apps like Motorola but they didn't and really it isn't that hard to do it with Good Lock.

i assume they did not plan on any apps until the razor came out then they had to jump through hoops to get it available

Did they remove this recently or what? When i go into labs there's no toggle for allowing apps on the cover screen...

Also in case it bothers you like it did me you can edit the clock to get rid of the zero when the time is not double digits. That's always bothered me.

When i open the good lock app it takes me to a list of apps that says make up on the left and life up on the right. There is now menu or way to get to settings. Do you know a fix?

On another note.. How is that case.. is it thin? I'm waiting for my Latercase to come. I've had a few different flip cases but always go back to my Latercase because it's so minimal and fits like a glove on the phone.

Why I can't see all the apps inside of the Launcher widget while choosing what apps to show on the cover screen. I didn't find some of the apps inside of "I love Foldables" Clock, Calender, Camera. Any reason or solution?

Yup. Samsung definitely had a brain fart with this funciton 🤣🤣 Until they fix itz I'll stick to my pixel fold and razr plus.

what is a good case for the flip 5

I own the razor and u have to go through and give permission for each app b4 u can just add app to front. It's easy but at first it isn't just as easy as hitting the plus button.

It doesnt pop on galaxy store for me.When i searche it on Google the store pops but it's said 'the app is not available'

Let them know! I have both the Z Flip 5 and the RAZR+, The front screen experience on the Motorola phone is better, without a doubt. The Samsung's build quality is much more solid. Fact. But so far, the RAZR+ is still leading the way from my personal use. To be clear, I've had the Z-Flip 3, the 4, and the now 5...

I've thought this from once i saw the Razr.. if Moto had the balls to do a great trade in for the z flip 4 they would fully challenge Samsung. But they don't and Samsung is basically giving you the phone with the trade in they offered. Plus support from Samsung stores if you have one close. Moto can't compete with that and until they do they don't stand much of a chance.

Im beyond glad you are bringing awareness to this problem not everyone is a tech enthusiast most have no clue and will have no clue what to do. This is why the iPhone is the most popular phone simple easy to use Samsung should take notes.

Kinda like the effort needed, because it stops us doom scrolling as easy on the front screen.

Honestly, i just dont like the shape of the front screen on the zflip, on top of the hoops you gotta jump through to use apps on it. Its a shame bc i love Samsung, but because of those annoyances along with the razr's fold being less noticeable, I'm leaning toward getting the razr.

I’d take the RAZR over the Flip 5 IF Motorola had reliable updates. Until then, I’ll continue to look at the flip 5.

Good Lock not available in my country. If I would have known this I would have never bought this phone. Disappointed.

I agree someone that's not tech savvy will probably be disappointed with 4 or 5 widgets on that small z flip 5 screen, just seems kind of lazy that Samsung is reliant on other apps to get the best out of the small screen. I've been using it for about a week now, photos are decent, battery life not so great and sometimes I still find myself flipping the phone anyway and using the larger display. It does have that premium feel so the build quality is top notch. I only spent $200 with a trade-in so can't really complain, but I can see somebody not impressed with the phone that spent over $1,000.

Chances that samsung sends out an update fixing this issue?

I must be living in different universe. When I download good lock there are no options for multistar or life up, it's completely different

Phones been out for a month lol ill just wait till they do an update that allows more apps.
