I've been using the PelPro PP130 for 4 years to heat my garage/shop.... its cozy in there right now...outside temp -38f... inside the shop 60f... runs on low all winter... don't fool yourself though it needs to be cleaned (takes 5 minutes after cool down) every 3 days... (I use an ash vacuum designed for fireplaces and wood ash).... also have an Osburn 5000 in the house...it should have made your list its awesome and waaaaaay more controllable that the PP130... which is a great stove avail at Home Depot in Canada for $2100.. the Osburn about $3500

I have a Harman fireplace pellet insert. It’s the best brand along with Quadrafire in my opinion. The BTU output is really mainly based off of the types and quality of pellets you buy. I find Turman and Country Boy to be one of the best pellet brands. High heat output with very low as. I use Barefoot brand, it yields a high heat BTU but has significantly more ash than Turman or Country Boy.

Interesting that in 11/2021 the Comfort Bilt HP50S is near identical to the #1 Castle in this video, right down to the door. Uses the same identical controller with the same identical settings, but has a higher efficiency rating. This video doesn't go into much detail on actual performances of each. The Castle/Comfort Bilt controller has an Eco mode where it will shut the unit down when the set temperature is reached, raising indoor temps ~3* higher than the set. If you want the room temp to be 68, then set it to 65. The probe is near the floor, so that temp is floor level temps, and when set to 68 the head level temps are near 70, making the room very comfortable. I've only had the HP50s installed for a few days, but it is doing a really nice job keeping the place warm with 21* outside temps.

I owned the Castle pellet stove for two years. You clean it for 15 minutes a day, and every 2 weeks, there is more cleaning, that will take half an hour. There is also yearly cleaning, that might take 2 hours. So, it's easy to clean, but you really have to baby it.

These fireplaces are built very cheaply and I cringe whenever I get a service call for them because customers expect too much for what they cost. You get what you pay for. If someone is going to use them for a main source of heat in a place that gets cold temps all winter then I’d advise going with something like a Harmon, Regency , Travis Industries or Quadri-fire.

my neighbor put a pellet stove in, tract homes, all the same, I didn't, heated with oil...end of heating season we added up costs, him his pellet cost and some oil, me just oil....It actually cost him more, and that didn't even include factoring in a % of stove cost, installation....the pellet manufacturers charge approx. the same per btu as oil....they no fools

(Laughing) On the Wiseway pellet stove you listed the fact that it doesn't use electric or have an option for electric as a negative?!?! That is a feature, not a bug. The most common components to go out are augers and electrical components. As Elon says, if the part isn't needed then it cannot break. The Wiseway stove is one of the most reliable on the market. I still prefer the Liberator Rocket Heater better though because you can burn regular wood too. You also have an option for a thermal bench. In conclusion, this video is clickbait produced by someone who knows nothing about pellet stoves and probably doesn't even own one.

Nice stove but with the price of pellets hit the 300+dollars per one ton they don't compete with propane our natural gas you should let people know this I hear my home with two pellet stoves have for 20years pellets were only 125a ton back then this is my last year with the stove going back to gas!!!!!! Tell people the truth

Unless you have Amerigas propane delivery and they don't show up for weeks on end. I'm scrambling now for safe back up heat so I can go to work and feel safe. So no guarantees with propane. They screwed me.

I just don't understand the logic of pellet stoves. It goes totally against the point of a wood burning stove and is subject to supply chain issues and more cost.

Burns much cleaner and more efficiently than regular wood so there is less ash. Also, easy to store the pellets inside the house or anywhere dry. Don't have critters living in your wood pile. The fans also help distribute heat around the house.

Wood stoves do not require electricity one of the reasons they are superior to pellet stoves. If you loose power you still have heat, not so with a pellet stove. In my opinion pellet stoves are a waste of time because of that critical limitation

Stupid review. For Number 3, US Stove, they list lack of electrical option as a con. That is the stupidest thing I've ever heard. A pellet stove that does not need an electric connection is a major breakthrough. Not a word about the glass becoming dirty for any of these. Every pellet stove I've ever seen has a dirty glass after a little while of operation. This is a major turn-off.

Pellets are over $350 a ton now . Never buy a pellet stove . If you lose power your screwed and if you run out of pellets or they get wet your going to freeze to death . Go with a old wood stove you can burn anything in it like hard wood floors and on and on .
@Tom-yj6mt
@Tom-yj6mt 2 жыл бұрын
Talk about telling the truth, I think you should take your own advice. So you think pellets are $350 a ton? BS, I paid $220 a ton in July. It's called buying your shit early so you get a cheaper price. Most people know how many ton they need to use for a winter so they wont run out. Despite what you may think not everyone is able to cut their own firewood. I live out in the country and can't tell you the last time we lost power. Ever heard of a generator or maybe a kerosene heater? Maybe try using your head before you run your mouth

@@Tom-yj6mt Well Tom use your own head. anyone who uses the term " run your mouth" is usually a poorly educated unthinking person. There are ways to get cut or thin wood. But i won't tell you about it.
