I do agree that this is the best foldable this year, and even better with this Porsche Design collab. The size and weight makes it really easy to replace a slab phone! Thumbs up to HONOR 👍

Call me cynical, but it looks like Porsche just designed a phone case and maybe some of the packaging, Honor used their branding to justify the premium price.

This is basically Honor Magic 5 Pro but in a foldable version and with some Porsche marketing on top.

Worse cameras and processor than Magic 6 Pro, and no face unlock either, at more than twice the price. Unless you really need the folding screen, the Magic 6 Pro seems to be a far better choice.

The Magic 6 Pro (My review is coming) is a good option. Foldables never have the cameras or battery life a flagship standard phone does. That's the trade off and I hope one day we can have a foldable with cameras as good as the slab flagships.

Chinese phones don't do well in USA, for a good reason. Also, Honor it's well known to steal technology and copy designs... It's one of these brands that are basically for the Chinese market. Also, used to be part of Huawei (it's still is to a certain extent) and thus under the Chinese communist party thumb. Backing this it's backing up that dictatorship.

15:37 Remember that unfolding the phone to its inner screen doubles the screen resolution, so this will of course impact gaming handling even more, snapdragon 8 gen 2 or not.

Great review Chris ,i was very interested into foldables but having experienced the Oneplus Open and now seeing this review on the Magic V2 ,I think it's not time to go foldable just yet .

That's correct ,i liked it for maybe a few hours ,but after setting it up i started to play with it and discovered that the Oneplus Open was kinda step backwords from my Honor Magic 4 Pro . like the screen brightness was not all that high compared to my Magic 4 pro,Also scrolling on a feed was not smooth altough i had the screen on 120hz .Also bugs like blackscreen when trying to view Google feed when swiping right.Poor video quality watching instafeeds .for me the Oneplus Open was also feeling to bulky especially with the case on .just a few irritations that made me sell the Oneplus Open off within a week @@Techtablets

Damn that is a shame and since I haven't tested the Open I can't comment. But the Magic 5 Pro was my recommended alrounded phone to get last year. Cameras, battery life, screen, build and features all great. I have the Magic 6 Pro now for review and so far jsut as good. Oh and the Magic 4 Pro yes great phone.

Thank you for your lovely KZfaq videos. I really appreciate it. I have a question about the (Honor V2) phone. I’ve just bought a new one and I tried everything on it. I’ve realized that there is a delay when scrolling up and down on some of the apps in the phone ( KZfaq - Instagram - Twitter... ) the phone on 120 frame rates, and still it didn’t fix the problem & By the way i also have honor magic 5 pro with the same issues ! When you tried the phone, did you realize the same delay ( slow ) when scrolling on some apps of the phone? i also compared it with oneplus open ,scrolling is just WAY faster than the honor V2 ! Thanks a lot and appreciate it

Me mean the actual scrolling rate right or a delay? I've noticed that I can't flick scroll as fast as say my S23 Ultra but this seems to be a choice by design that it's slower.

There have been quite a lot of 'Porsche Designed' products over the decades and I have yet to see one that makes any difference to the appeal of the product. It just allows a price hike because of the name. This is typical of the trend. Overpriced by a distance.

Glad they don't care about enviroment ( Hello, Apple, Samsung, Google?!). So slim for a foldable phone, with big battery! Double charger 66W, IN the box, case! Well done Honor!

This smartphone is released 6 months too late internationally. People who are willing to put $1700-$2000 into a smartphone, are certainly people who value the specs, but also and above all the software, the software tracking, and a good warranty. And I think that the leaks of the future Galaxy Fold 6 and Pixel Fold 2 with their design changes, and especially their 7 years of update, will lead many to wait to see what these smartphones will look like, not to mention the OnePlus Open which has positioned itself as a major competitor.

I will be surprised if a foldable will last half the lifetime of those 7 years of updates! My Fold 4 was showing its age, and I only got a £400 trade-in on something that retailed for £1700 ( an 18-month-old foldable).

@@distar7471 It's rather you who have to leave in denial, just as in China 🇨🇳 Chinese brands are the default choice (thanks to the price and the fact that their software is adapted to the market), Apple and Samsung are the default choice in the West (thanks to the software, almost 100% compatibility with services, warranty, after-sales service, and the trust people have in its brands), it's just the reality.

Looks great. The case - love it. slim as paper the stylus with holder is a pretty nice extra. They should've slapped extra case imo instead of EU UK charger(makes no sense). I'm rooting for honor!😂 But it's kinda funny to think they are apart now from huawei. Emui flagships pretty much similar and Porsche design which was always huaweis 😉. Nothing to hate bout it. unless u r murican patriot on a donkey. Great review as always👑

Magic 8.0 (Android 14) is incoming, which will be a big update, including AI/ML software. They are taking their time so they get it right.

Also, hardware is forever, but software can and will get better. Being stuck with the awful Fold 5 for 3-5 years will be a punishment, but having this for the same time would be a delight.

The same phone with a new backplate lol. Last years chip and still no wireless charging. For how much haha? What a joke. They should have at least added the snap gen 3, wireless charging and also upgraded the cameras for that price hike
