The QD-OLED 34" Ultrawide 3440 x 1440p 21:9 Samsung Panel is STUNNING, featuring a 2H anti-glare coating, that is... full gloss, so you get the benefits of both worlds (explained later), and Philips have implemented this with their Evnia line up to near perfection. The Input lag is virtually zero (tested) and the response times are under 1ms, at 175Hz with freesync support that works from 48-175hz, it is bound to make any gamer have a great time. Though there are some drawbacks which will will discuss in today's review.
Check out the monitor here when it is ready (it's currenty backordered).

@@mhm35 I used a 21:9 3440x1440 @100Hz IPS VA panel. I prefer 1440p to 1080p for ultrawides. My GF used a 21:9 2560x1080 @175Hz nanoIPS panel which was beatiful in its own right. Very few games I play will be able to push above 175 fps anyway. I'm afraid I can't offer any insight in the drop from 220Hz to 175Hz. You might be better of saving for an even higher refresh rate QD-OLED monitor if you are playing just competitive shooters
@mhm35

Thanks for the feedback! I have had only familiarity with competitive panels on competitive shooters, but I have no delusions of being competitive myself LOL. I may play almost exclusively Halo Infinite, but I seldom play Ranked. I've actually been raising the resolution beyond my 1080p 21:9 native resolution to see how my GPU handles 1440p 21:9 resolution. It's been pretty positive. Def a big drop in frames, but still def playable. To my knowledge, the only OLEDs with higher refresh rate are Odyssey G9, I just don't have space for a 49". Yeah, but do not forget that Philips do not sell or make monitors anymore, a Chinese company (TP Vision) bought the rights and name of Philips years ago (2012). So yeah it has nothing to do with Philips, but the name Philips still sells good, still because of its name. And yeah, the Philips (TP Vision) Evnia 34M2C8600 White looks great, i had to buy a new monitor, because my cat destroyed my other good monitor, that was less then 2 years old, i wish a new LG UltraGear 38GN950-B, 38" 3840x1600 (4k) 160Hz Nano IPS was a lot cheaper, because i still would have bought that one, even when the colors and blacks look better on this Philips (TP Vision) Evnia 34M2C8600 monitor, he is a lot smaller, but there is no 38" 3840x1600 OLED monitor.

the anti glare finish while retaining gloss is good, but it doesn't make up for the lack of a polariser so dynamic range is lowered a fair amount with just a light on in the room, blacks become grey is the most noticeable part of this, still looks great relatively in the end but this is where woled gloss panels perform a little better in these scenarios even if its lacking the color intensity of qd. the pixel layout while not standard rgb, is still better than woled when reading text at the same ppi and distance. woled has the benefit of more efficiency for white, whereas white on qd oled heats and degrades things a lot quicker, hence the reports of burn in. I think all this is worth if for the lumination and color volume of qd, i have a lot of experience with how burn in works and this panel had been great for me, i wouldn't say the same for 90% of the other yuppies

Wish they had gone for better HDMI. Even the sort of 2.1 that's not full bandwidth so will support this or that. Like, not everything a 2.1 will do at once. But at least get VRR from 48 -100 or so. There are monitors that support FreeSync over HDMI. My old one did. And some devices have VRR over HDMI 2.0. I believe the PS5 will do VRR to monitors with 2.0 that supported FreeSync. The Xbox would run FreeSync on 1440p no problems. So they missed that. I'm still on the fence for QD-OLED, about how it age. I'll wait a bit. I currently have an HDR 4K VA pannel. The blacks surprised me. Having multiple other OLED devices, (Various Samsung using different types, 2 LG P-OLED, basic OLED from the Switch). Always having IPS, from crappy to professional, calibrated 10 bit IPS. And only experienced some mid low VAs in the past. I'm amaze about how black they can look now. I did considered the LG C OLEDS. I really like LG's OLED, more than Samsungs. But since I sue it mostly as monitor. I was paranoid. Also, I rarely turn on the HDR. Not only it uses twice the power. But it blast my eyes. So I only turn it on for movies or gaming from distance. With a controller. When I'm on the keyboard my face is like 40cm from the screen. I run the backlight at 30 and I already find it bright enough.
