For Technas Enchantix. I vaguely remember them saying if the Portal fails all of Magix is in trouble - so by that assumption she indirectly saved her world too.. therefore Enchantix.

Tecna's Enchantix is my favourite form of the whole show. Both the look and how she gets it are iconic. I also feel like her act is the most selfless. Andros isn't her planet, the people there aren't hers, and she has no reason to believe this could contribute to her getting her Enchantix - hell, she doesn't even know if she'll live. But she does it anyway because she knows someone has to. As sad as it is that Tecna is so neglected by the show, I'm just glad that she at least got one of the best moments. Also, Tecna and Timmy are the best couple, I love them so much.

One thing that I loved was consistent throughout every Winx earning their Enchantix is that they always felt fluid and natural. At no point does any member attempt to take advantage of earning their Enchantix and prove they really deserve it - especially Tecna. She gladly sacrificed herself for not even her own world. That easily makes her worthy of Enchantix and I’ll always love her for it.

The specificity of Techna's enchantix is that she doesn't used her logical thinking, when she closed the Omega Portal. In the Winx Club, she was always the logical thinker, who was always straightforward in any situation and tried to use logic to solve problems (like she created different gadgets with Timmy or tried to follow the rules etc.). Logically, she should have saved someone "from her own planet" to get her Enchantix but in this case, she wanted to save Andros, not thinking about the consequences... In this episode, she doesn't say a word, but her facial expression show her determination and in her eyes, I can feel this thought, that 'I don't care how or at what cost but I will save these people!". She earned her Enchantix, because she let her logical thinking fade in her mind, she made an "unlogical" decision by saving Andros, with whom she had no connection. In my opinion, that's why her Enchantix is unique, because it was unexpected from her and she followed her heart without a doubt that shows her slow, but continuous development of her emotions.

I kinda love how, in season 4, Bloom reminds Aisha about how revenge isn't the answer because it shows she has matured since season 3 and knows how revenge and vengeance nearly cost them the war against valtor

I'm Italian and I can tell you that in the original dialogue they say that the portal drained all of Tecna's life force, therefore killing her. That's why they react like that. Plus, in the original, Stormy comments Tecna's "death" by mischievously admitting that she grew fond of her.

I have a theory that Andros gave Tecna her Enchantix because fairy dust was the missing ingredient to close the portal. We all know Enchantix bends the rules sometimes (Bloom). Tecna was the only one brave enough to come near the portal (Aisha and Bloom couldn't even touch it), but to fully close it, fairy dust was needed. Andros gave her the gift of Enchantix to save the planet. Yes, she didn't save anyone from her own world, but she did sacrifice herself for millions of people. So, her Enchantix was earned.

The Nick dub mentions that the portal was going to put the whole magical dimension at risk, but my head cannon was that The Winx was her world because emotions on Zenith were so repressed that she felt more at home with the winx than on her home planet. That's also how I originally thought Bloom was going to get/complete her enchantix, buy saving someone from earth because it is her home planet even if she wasn't born there. It could have been very cute/wholesome representation of adoptive families and how love is what make a family/home.

When I first watched episode 13 I was CONVINCED this was the writers' cheat code to give Bloom her Enchantix so IMAGINE my shock when Tecna not only earned it but was also presumed DEAD??? I didn't speak to anyone for like two days 😭

After watching the three seasons again, I realized Tecna was one of the best. Aside from the sacrifice, she always got the group out of difficult situations by using her powers to teleport, to shield, to locate, to analyse and even infiltrate places. The only issue is that most of these moments didn't happen in combat when they were transformed. But people still DARE call her useless!! She's even the first one who calls out Bloom for making decisions for the entire group.

Episode 13 was juat so sad not for the winx but also the audience, Tecna who mostly felt like the odd one out, going through trouble with dealing with emotions and trying to cope with them, and now sacrificing herself to save andros even though it wasn't her planet and knowing that she can die ( the blast would be so huge it would also affect other worlds including Zenith) and the moment she was blessed with Enchantix finally with fluttering wings bc in magic winx she had that glider, realising now just now that she was a guardian fairy she lost. 😢 Despite all these she still made a great sacrifice showing that SHE MATTERS, even though she is considerd as the weakest and least popular, the winx club doesnt make sense without her.❤ It was bullshit for bloom in season 4 that you cant solve anything with vengeance when they were ready to kill valtor in season 3. Plus Tecnas enchantix was perfection dont know why the designers cut the low part of the wings that was a poor decision but i tie that with her expising more of herself it was like more her opening up to her friends. Tecna's my fave so I loved seeing her get some focus, she's an integral part of the team! It could have been so much better though, I wish her Enchantix was actually part of some wider arc for her in this season like Stella's was. Narrative-wise there wasn't really any specific reason as to why it should be Tecna to close the portal, other than "ehh she's the least popular one so I guess she can have a moment now". Like they didn't even have a reason as to why Bloom and Aisha (an Enchantix fairy) couldn't get close to the portal but Tecna could? What did she do differently, did she use some sort of technical know-how?

I’ve never been this early and btw I believe Tecna is the most underrated character when it comes to powers and spells, transformations, and her own personality characteristics. I loved watching her enchantix sequence and I felt like it was the most detailed of all the winx. She’s a very important character as well and when she went down that hole we all thought she died and that scene is one of the most tragic in the show

Girly, I was so upset how when they finally found Tecna in Omega, everyone just said, “Tecna!” And that was it. All of their attention was diverted to Bloom, instead of their friend who almost died in a frozen hell dimension. No tears, sobbing, hugging, anything???

I think the "destroy us all" line was what made us think Tecna was saving all realms, including Zenith. Cause I came to the same conclusion when I watched the 4Kids dub myself.

14:27 About that point, allow me to discuss it. Someone (I don't remember who though exactly) shared online that Tecna and Musa earned their Enchantix the same way Bloom did, by sheer will. Musa got her own because she was determined to save Galatea from the fire (so her Enchantix was incomplete) and ended up finalizing it when she did save her (rendering her Enchantix complete). Bloom got it when she faced the Trix on Pyros, thanks to her will (incomplete Enchantix), and finalized it when freeing Domino (complete Enchantix). In the end, it's not hard to understand that Tecna did the same. Her will to close down the Omega Portal was enough to turn her into an Enchantix Fairy (incomplete Enchantix) and she finalized it by closing it down, therefore Andros and possibly the rest of the Magic Dimension had things gone out of hand (complete Enchantix).

In the Latin American dub (and I assume the original italian) everyone assumes Tecna died, making the end of episode 13 and the start of 14 more poignant.

There was this theory in the wiki that she was willing to sacrifice herself for the sake of the Magical Dimension including Zenith. That's how she earn her enchantix.

So Thomas the reason she did the spin is because she was spinning in the opposite directions as the portal to kind of counteract it’s vortex so she didn’t get pulled in she reversed her spin to not get pulled in but that’s just my take on it

Okay but 4 kids effed up hard by saying 'locked away in the Omega Dimension' because it's obvious that she could still be alive. In all other versions I know the girls have no reason to doubt it even for a second that she's dead.

Well this is a nice end to a pretty good day. Yay. 9:05 can we also just appreciate Baltor/Valtor recoiling in horror from Icy here. Like he couldn't end her whole existance. Aa cool as a big bad Baltor/Valtor was the Trix didn't even square uo to Darkar (at least until be betrayed them) the way they do with Baltor/Valtor. And i kind of love it. 18:07 that is genuinely one of my all time favourite pieces of music. It's so catchy. I really wish we could get who ever owns the 4Kids music to release it. Like can't we all unite and try to make that happen. Fabs of the Sailor Moon DiC dub managed to get most of the music cues found and archived so its possible and i think the 4Kids Winx Club fanbase is big enough we could make it happen if we tried.

Several inconsistencies in Tecna's Enchantix. First she gets it before sacrificing herself. Tecna's wings appear in full, only to have the lower part disappear and her entire wings reappear in episode 23 and S8. And what's most inconsistent is that Tecna's parents don't care about her.

The way Bloom cried for Techna that it was her duty to sacrifice herself is easily my least favorite moment from her from the original series. Like, girl, this isn't a competition, if she's gonna do it, she is gonna do it.

Winx Club needs to bring back those one season characters. Pepe Icy's Duck, Buddy Bloom's Dragon, Princess Amentia and her husband Sponsus, The Water Nymphs/Undines, etc.

Tecna wasn't my favorite as a kid., but after I saw this episode all those years ago, she immediately jumped to my top 3. I remember a lot of fans theorized that the reason Tecna got her Enchantix was that her planet would indirectly be affected by the collapse of the portal. Closing it meant not only Andros/Tides but all the remaining worlds. And yes! Thank you for pointing out Bloom's patronizing lecture about revenge to a distraught and hurt Aisha in season 4, when she herself went after Valtor for Tecna's "death" during this season with blind rage and fury. Another great review video, Thomas. And thank you for not peppering it with so many audio and video clips. A few are fine for laughs and effects, but ultimately, I love hearing your voice and opinions about the details of these episodes.

I always hated how once Bloom went to Pyros(?) nobody talked about Tecna anymore. I understand that it was mostly done to signal that they really think she died, but at the same time it felt like they got over her "death" really fast.
