The writer's strike will likely prevent a sequel right away if it's going to happen. I didn't realize that the actor that played Rebecca also had a small role in Sex Education playing one of Jackson's two mothers. The title of the show comes from one of the songs in the Sound of Music which the team re-enacts for the coaches. If you go back to the scene with the psychic, she says Rebecca will become a mother which implied she would get pregnant (and it's implied she can't have kids), but instead, she becomes a mother through getting married to the Dutch guy. The Sam/Rebecca parts were dropped, but at least they had Sam playing for the Nigerian team. Note that Sam and Rebecca were two main characters in Cheers. There are apparently references to Cheers, perhaps because Sudeikis's uncle is George Wendt (who played Norm). Apparently Mae adjusting the picture is a callback to the last episode of Cheers where Sam adjusts a picture. Tons of callbacks to earlier episodes and to other shows/movies.

I'd do a spin off focusing on Richmond Ladies. have Rebecca, Keeley & Higgins as the main returning actors. with the men's team as supporting cast. Have Shannon from season 1 and the book signing at the end as one of the local players on the team (almost mirroring Sam's storyline and you could have it also end with her getting an England call up.) Would be a good commentary on the current growth of the lassies game. with regards to viewer ship, wages and such.

The absolute pain on Nate's face when he apologized. Beyond just quitting and taking on the West Ham job, he leaked the story about Ted's panic attacks. Such stories have been known to destroy careers and he did it not just to his boss but his friend, one of the few people who believed in him. Ted forgave him, because deep down he understood and knew Nate was a good man who made a mistake. Don't judge, be curious.

The music for the "courtroom" scene is not from Law & Order but from The People's Court.
