I was too conservative since 2017 and missed a life changing chance with simple sp 500 index stuff over these past years. I still lean toward what he is saying with everything over valued etc. but this big downturn never seems to come?? And I sit missing out. Analysis paralysis

Yes and No. Some bears keep a certain percentage in equities because they admit that markets can get even more overvalued and even more risky. Second, money in equities is at risk. Third, there is some return from money market funds and the like, e.g. US Treasuries.

Considering I sold 95% of portfolio in Jan, 2022 (1/2 managed) and went into various Cash instruments, what has the performance of the old vs the New been in 2.5 years. The old managed portfolio (about 60/40 mutuals) is still down Negative 3.4% The Cash equivalents (6mth/3 mth M.M.) is up 13%. What Huge Market Gains on the typical 60/40 portfolio? Vanguard Wellington is still down 9% - that’s a 60/40.

@@johnbirman5840 been out of the market and in cash/stable value for all practical purposes. Was trying to time going back in after unloading in 2008. totally missed out on all these record gains. Trying to still time putting a portiong back into stock indexes and kicking myself. What does a 60/40 portfolion look like since 2008? probably pretty good. I don't feel comfortable putting bond investments in indexes for sure.

If this was a real bull market, small caps would have taken out the ‘21 high, RSP and QQEW would show strength of a broadening market, and the advance-decline line wouldn’t be flat on SPY or inverted on IXIC. Think about it…

Ted, The average worth of a Russel 2000 company is 4.2 Billion. The medium Cap is over 900 million. And 40% are losing money?? Think about that.....

Ted" Boy, have I been wrong on the markets since 2023" Oakley. Ted seems like a nice person but he has been dead wrong on the markets for more than a year and a half. He said that there would be a major credit crisis early last year. Didn't happen. He may be right eventually.

I think higher housing prices are certainly being affected by less supply, but maybe also greater demand when you add in the illegal immigration and the economic activity that is going on with that group. They may be taking most of the available non-government jobs and are allowed to start businesses as well. I wonder if that activity is being tracked?

Ted, always love your content, but please stick to your expertise, which is not cryptocurrencies. "All the cryptos" in regards to energy usage is complete ignorance on your part. Bitcoin is primarily the energy use for the crypto industry and 54% of it uses renewable energy. Your comment would be accurate if you said ":all the AI chips"
