I saw Ted hit a homer earlier that season at Fenway. My grandfather, who saw Babe Ruth play for the Red Sox, took me to that game; but unfortunately he didn't live to see Ted hit his final HR. I always had a feeling that had he still been around, we'd have been at Fenway that day. Ted was the greatest.

Why doesn't the Red Sox ever wear the red/white/blue stirrups ever, even as a throwback? They were around during the Babe Ruth era. The all-red socks of the modern team suck!
