nobody in the Nationa League had ever hit a home run off Sewell's blooper pitch. But in the All-Star Game it gave Ted Williams his first chance. He was asked about it coming up to the game and he said he could do it. So when Williams came up to bat, the manager brought in Sewel just to pitch to Williams...and sure enough he hit it out.

And the story is that, that was the last time the blooper ball was thrown. He never threw it again.

Ted had said he stepped in front of the batters box.

Ted should have been called out. Look closer at the swing. His right foot was completely out of the batter's box when he hit the ball.
