In this clip, Teddy Riley detailed meeting Aaron Hall whom he would eventually collaborate with to form the group Guy. He talked about being blown away by Aaron’s voice and piano playing abilities. According to Teddy, the first time he heard Aaron on the piano he thought, "wow, this dude plays better than me."

GUY was my 1st time hearing R&B and they were even more dazzling live! It was the combo of Teddy Riley's know how + Aaron Hall's throaty Charlie Wilson Jr/church vocals that made them songs magical. They went through so many personnel changes in the early part of GUY's career, but still managed to bless ears and make history.

Andre Harrell, Russell Simmons, and Tyrone "Fly Ty" Williams shared a 1 bedroom apartment together in college Heavy D was suppose to be Russell Simmons artist but Russell dismissed Heavy D and said "he's too fat" but Andre said "the ladies love him" and took Heavy aboard his new label Uptown Records and built the label around him.

At this time Aaron was still singing with Hezekiah Walker and The Love Fellowship Crusade Choir. A lot of people don’t know that one time the choir was getting ready to go sing and Aaron and Hezekiah got into a disagreement and Aaron left and next thing you know he out with Guy!

This is one of Vlad's best interviews. He's letting the man reflect on his amazing career. It's crazy how Teddy and I have been in the same places at the same times around the same faces, but we never met. At least, I don't think we ever did. And even crazier, he is a distant cousin of my wife's. Teddy is a legend and a genius. I hated Wreckx-n- Effect, (though Rump Shaker grew on me) but other than that his catalogue is classic.

Wrecks n effect was dope! The whole album is straight beats and super scratching. Teddy Riley is blessed, and sounds far more humble than most other artists and producers. He should still be making hits
