What would you do if you lost your passions? Doing is great, but it's ultimately about trying, says Allen Lim. In this personal story, he details the creativity and persistence that was required to bring one of his own passions back to life. In the process, he implores us to rediscover the bicycle as well as our personal passions.
In the spirit of "ideas worth spreading," TED has created TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxMileHigh, where x = independently organized TED event. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

It doesn't even matter. All forms of professional sports cheat in some form or another. Bending the rules or plain old cheating trying not to get caught. He was a nutritionist not a pharmacist. Duh. Nutrition was more useful than the drugs. If you have no nutrition the drugs can't work. When you combine both it's cheating but do you blame the nutritionist or the pharmacist or the person taking the illegal substances. I say blame the spectators for believing and you for caring

$300. a year to care for a bicycle??? I think I have spent $350. on my bike since 1993. I have never owned a car even though I had a drivers license...I didn't want the expense. I have been using a bicycle for transportation since 1974 and I still am now.

In the county I live in, most roads are narrow with no shoulders. Lots of curves and hills. I'd love to walk or ride a bike to the store, but it's too dangerous around here. I'm sure that won't change in my lifetime. I forgot to mention, big ditches.

Note to self. Never mention the name of any Pro Cyclist or Athlete in a presentation for Kudos. It will most likely come back to haunt you a few years later. I inherited a Brompton folding bicycle. It's a work of genius and is perfect for city life ... I just fold it (15 seconds) and take it into the coffee shop.

300$ to ride your bike? With that amount you can probably buy a whole bike. How was this calculated? Even if i trade every consumable the bike has and one or other part that breaks down, i would get nowhere near 300$. BTW, nice folding setup dude :D

For someone that rides 10+ miles daily for one year and is a customer at a bike shop for tune ups and new parts, it could cost about $300. I would say that is about what I spend to keep my bikes running smooth, and its worth it.
