In this thought-provoking TEDx Talk, Christian Dankl explores the idea that our attention is the new currency in the world of advertising. From a consumer privacy perspective, he discusses the implications of targeted advertising, cookies, and the use of data algorithms by companies like Meta. Dankl draws a fascinating parallel between the discovery of Greenland and the modern-day attention economy, highlighting the potential consequences of our current approach to digital advertising. This talk offers valuable insights into the importance of protecting our privacy in the age of big data and AI based decision-making. With contextual targeting taking off, and the right ads finding the right people without infringing on their privacy, the attention economy should look much different and become the new currency. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I don't care if toilet seat ads are following me around. I would rather forsake internet credibility - than be locked down with tight privacy code. The rich and powerful will "ruin" the internet with all-out control and abuse.

The only talk they've uploaded in weeks that has over 1000 views. When you give EVERYONE a voice... nobody listens. Especially since the whole TED conference system is a joke full of grifters & idealists with zero real-world experience. 😂 Imagine thinking any of these talks matter. Ignorance is bliss, hence why people tend to be so upbeat at these conferences.
