The past century has introduced two major sources of information and social discourse i.e.conventional & social media; which are changing our narratives. Javed Chaudhry is a newspaper columnist in Pakistan. His series of columns have been published in four volumes in Urdu language. His most notable column ZERO POINT has great influence upon people of Pakistan especially Youth of Pakistan. He writes for the Urdu newspaper Daily Express four time a week, covering topics ranging from social issues. He also hosts a daily talk show on current affairs. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

Asslamo Allekom Nice speach. What I understand is too much knowledge is taking us to a ditch. Usage of social Media must be limited. And Cellular phone charges must be higher after certain time ( example after maghrib till 8 am or working hours) so the users can sleep batter, once they sleep batter then they give high output which Increases the productivity of social community.

میری تو سمجھ میں یہ بات نہیں آتی کہ وہ کیوں ایک انسان کی اچھائیاں پس پشت ڈال کر اس کی ایک برائ پکڑ کر اس کو برا بھلا کہنا شروع کر دیتے ہیں جب کے اچھائیاں اور برائیاں تقریبا ہر انسان میں موجود ہوتی ہیں اگر ہم صرف کسی کی اچھائیاں دیکھیں اور برائیوں کو نظرانداز کر دیا کریں تو اس سے ہمارے معاشرے میں بہت سدھار سکتا ہے

Don’t understand why so negative about the speech, he has very well explained how social media is changing our minds, it could be positive or negative. He only highlighted to be careful of it, as fake news are a big issue these days. Try to understand the message. I don’t see any political influence in his talk.

Quran has also stressed upon verification in Surah e Hujurat:"Or tehqiq kar liya karo " so that you would not feel guilty if u would act upon that news whivh is wrong....
