Anne Curzan is an Arthur F. Thurnau Professor of English at the University of Michigan. As an expert in the history of the English language, Curzan describes herself as a fount of random linguistic information about how English works and how it got to be that way. Anne blogs about language for The Chronicle of Higher Education's Lingua Franca and appears every Sunday morning on Michigan Radio's "That What They Say."
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Anne Curzan has filmed a 36-lecture course for the Great Courses of the Education Company, "The Secret Life of Words." We showed it to many friends at our retirement community, and they loved the course. They really like the way Professor Curzan lectures, with animated hands and a nice sense of humor. Highly recommended.

In Spanish we have the Spanish Real Academy that regulates all the word, grammar, new words, and rules we use of the Spanish language. I feel very comfortable having a centralized group who care of this and we follow their rules without concerns like Anne Curzan is talking here.

Absolutely unacceptable that dictionary editors are using false usage to define words, no matter how popular. If they want their dictionary to stay relevant, then they had better stop this offence.

When people meet you at parties, they think you're a man. "Her" ring finger is much longer than her pointer finger. Obvious man.

Sorry to burst your bubble 4 years later, I know you aren't the smartest, but just googling her name leads me to no source that would lead to me believing she's trans. Sorry.
