Navi Radjou, coauthor of the global bestsellers Jugaad Innovation and From Smart To Wise discusses the importance of "unlearning" as a key enabler of personal growth -- both in private and professional life. Smart people focus on constantly learning new things but have trouble letting go of concepts and success formulas that served them well in the past but are no longer relevant today. Wise people, on the other hand, are able to quickly unlearn what they already know and adapt to changing circumstances. "Learning to Unlearn" is vital for success in an increasingly complex and unpredictable world. And that requires continually shifting one's perspective by changing the "lenses" through which one views the world.

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

By this video, I understand that to learn something new unlearn is important. When the context around you is changing you always need to unlearn. Because now-a days it is not important how efficient you are what matter is how flexible and adaptable you are.

In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities, in the expert's mind there are few.

It's really hard to unlearn. It's what we learned in the past that brought us where we are today and we may have an inclination to apply that same set of rules to maximize the likelihood of future success. Realizing things have changed and the need to leave those past believes behind is really painful. Deviation from a known course creates uncertainty, and uncertainty causes a lot of anxieties.

This fairy tails is not 'unlearn' at all ... unlearning about recognition of patterns of thinking not by changing your context but by 'see' your way of thinking ... it's internal not something change by environment ... sorry but your cup already full!!
