Filmmaker Kaz Yamaguchi explains how he and his wife recorded their year-long honeymoon around the world, capturing their travels from different heights.
Kaz Yamaguchi, Filmmaker
Having been brought up in the United States and spending his school years as a returnee back in Japan, Kaz always felt something different from the people around him. After getting married in 2013, he and his wife Mariko set out on a different type of honeymoon, traveling through 48 countries for 400 days. Taking full advantage of technology to document their travels, Kaz took the typical ‘selfie’ to new heights, capturing their trip from a totally new perspective. Their honeymoon and ‘selfie’ project was covered by the BBC news with the story going viral. Soon, media outlets around the world were reporting on Kaz and Mariko’s adventure.

This makes me cry. I wish I had done this when I was young. We live on a beautiful planet. Our species is capable of the greatest destruction and the greatest beauty. If you are young, travel. You have but one life. Use it.

Please help me answering these. 1. Whats the exact brand of this drone? 2. How one can afford to travel for that much long time without have money than enough money. Did they work in those countries to spend on food, shelter? 3. How they captured pics from that height? had they issues from government?

1.DJI Phantom Pro 2.He answered it by as they lived in cheap hotel and took cheap transport system .That's can manage expenses. 3. From those pic it seems most of those pictures are taken in human free area . So none was there to apply the law i think.

Yes, the pilot clearly violated the US FAA's published rules and may also have violated the rules of other countries. My guess is that the couple got away with it by keeping their flights very short. I'm also guessing that each round trip lasted a minute or less. Lastly, I'm assuming that they had some method for concealing their aircraft as they approached and departed the various locations. Re the various locations, I'm so curious to know how each was chosen.
