Ugh I hate this. So much sexism and paternalism. NO, WOMEN ARE NOT HERE FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF DELIVERING BABIES, and we are not to be made heroes for bringing babies into the world. Throughout history, women have created SO MUCH art, and music and different techniques, the problem was time, yes. Apart from cleaning after their dad, brothers, husband and sons, cooking for them, making their clothes and keeping them ready, cleaning the house, repairing furniture, making beds everyday, planning to shop, taking care of the monetary aspect of carrying a house,etc. there aren't that many more hours in the day to think and create what you may consider "art" (although they did: storytelling, cooking, making clothes needs that creativity). So, the women that have survived History and their name has remained (there were many more but they were scared to tell they were smart enough to create because they might end up being burned alive as witches) were usually from a higher social class who had other women doing all those chores, so they had more time to spend it as they wished: Virginia Woolf, Hypathia, Sappho, even Chimamanda Adichie Ngozi, for Christ sake, even myself, I am freed from those duties and I had the economical freedom to study and spend time here typing this instead of cleaning after everyone around me. So, NO, we don't just create babies and that makes us significant in this world. We ARE SIGNIFICANT, WE ARE JUST BUSY AND THE PATRIARCHY KEEPS US AWAY FROM THE ARTS.
