During this talk Puck Kroonsberg takes you on a personal journey: remembering who you truly are. In a world that often influences who you think you ‘should’ be. How will self-discovery set you free? And how will it be the key to your long-lasting happiness & health? After a burn-out at the age of 22 Puck transformed her life and liberated herself into who she truly is: her true (authentic) self.
Today she shares stories to inspire & empower people to discover & free themselves. Envisioning a brighter future where authenticity is the norm. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx

I hid my true self for a long time because I felt ashamed about my looks. I thought I wasn't good enough. This feeling started when I was a child and lasted for many years. In 2016 and 2017, I felt very sad and anxious. I had scary thoughts and memories that wouldn't go away. I felt alone and trapped. But in 2022, I found the courage to show my mom my true self. It was like stepping into the light. I started to heal and learn to love myself, flaws and all. I want others to know that they don't have to hide like I did. We can all learn to love ourselves and be proud of who we are.

I'm having an identity crisis. I realized the other day (it hit me like a truck) that I'm just some fu**ing guy. I spent my 20s in heavy addiction. I feel like I missed a whole lot of the development that most people go through in their 20s. Now, at 33, I am trying to figure out who the heck I am!

Same here. I’m 23 but I haven’t found who I really am yet. I didn’t fall into addiction. But I was shut off from society, I was put on antidepressants and antipsychotics. And more during my teenage years. My family also kept on neglecting and abusing me. I had an epiphany in the New Year. I had heard the phrase “heal your inner child”, which inspired me. I don’t have money, but I feel I have to get a job to earn money. Learn new skills. Make new friends. Try new things. Buy the things I never had but always wanted. Heal my past traumas.

Jesus is your way to renewal. It's never too late. Believe with your heart and confess Him with your mouth (Romans 9 vs 9-10) and ask of Him and He will show you and lead you just like a good shepherd who takes care of his sheep.( Psalm 63 vs 1). He has everything planned for you, He chose you, He foreknew you and knows you better than you know yourself and He even has predestinated a special place for you before you were born, in His purpose on this earth ( Romans 8 vs 28-31; Jeremiah 29 vs 11). Come over to His light and this might just be a new beginning and your rebirth into His kingdom of total liberty and peace for your soul. ( 1 corinthians 5 vs 17-18). In Jesus' Name! Amen!

@vignytikangoua3235 I'm glad that worked for you. I wasn't really looking for renewal (there was nothing to renew). I'm figuring out who I am late, but making good progress.

@@stevenclark1662 It's okie to feel that way, but it's never too late to work on figuring out who you are and what you want in life. Your past doesn't define you, and every day is a chance to make positive changes and grow. Take small steps, explore new interests, talk to people you trust, and consider seeking support if needed. You're on a journey of self-discovery, and it's okay to feel lost sometimes. 🌟 Remember Self care is not selfish it's essential !
