ONSCREEN CREDIT - @ranamoukarzel
At first, Rana Moukarzel, 19, believed she felt an earthquake after the floor in her home in Beirut, Lebanon, began to shake on August 4th.
Recording herself as she headed out to the balcony to see what was going on, the booming sound of the shocking explosion caused Rana to panic and run back inside.
With her family screaming and shouting out of confusion and fear, Rana burst into tears, all the while her mobile phone captured the terrifying moment on camera.
Luckily for Rana and her family, their home was far enough away from the accident in order to avoid any serious damage.

My mom always tells me stories about growing up in Afghanistan during the civil war, constant barrages of rockets, Russian helicopters firing in civilian areas, famines, but the craziest thing is that nothing ever broke her or her family. People just compartmentalized and it became a part of everyday life. It's insane knowing what people in those countries have to deal with and then seeing what makes people break in 1st world countries.

In my opinion she should learn to control her emotions better. I have been in a few gunpoint situations and would never react like this, a reaction like this only tells me that someone needs to get into more uncontrollable situations and overcome their fears better. Obviously you can’t stop a bomb landing but it would be better to be rational in any situation than panic uncontrollably. That’s what often gets you killed. And in today’s society people are becoming accepting of this mindset, which I think is completely unacceptable. If World War 3 happens, when it happens, would you want people to behave like this? Snowflake culture I call it, don’t mean to be rude but that’s the sad truth of it.

My thing is that the first thoughts are probably "I'm going to die and not know why" they didn't know it was a factory explosion the people who died probably thought it was a bomb. Even then if you look at it from the point of view of war and it actually was a bomb all the people who died will never really know why they were attacked. War is so scary. When I was in fifth grade, an immigrant girl from Syria joined my class. One day the military had some kind of exercise or something and they flew around really close to the school and it was incredibly loud. It was recess and me and the girl was walking around together. When she heard and saw the military airplanes she panicked and screamed. She thought that they were here to bomb us. She later told me that before she left Syria, the place where her grandma lived had been bombed. This video reminded me of that. Quite horrible that she’s been thru that.

Nope your wrong she started to calm down until everone stared freaking out witch then freaked her out more lol. it would definitely be hard to stay calm when u here bombs going off but the screaming just adds to the confusion. I lived in Palestine and I remember watching the airstrikes at the night and just praying it doesn't hit us. You could feel the earth shake even if you were miles away from the target. They were so strong. I remember I was playing outside when one hit our area, the utility poles collapsed like dominos and caused this great white/purple explosion. For a second, it looked beautiful, before it inflicted the obvious damage. I was so young when it happened and it was the first of many I experienced. I feel for all the Iraqis, Syrians, Afghanis, and Yemenis--or anyone who lives in a war zone, it's not easy.

A bomb didn’t go off, it was an explosion at an abandoned warehouse...

Its crazy because if you see a documentary of an explosion or something it does not seem so bad but if there is a recording of an explosion and it shows the reaction of the people you start to empathize with them more.

Why is everyone getting recommended this four months later? Edit: I didn’t mean to be offensive, I understand what happened in Beirut was a tragic event and I wish the best for all the people or families affected. I was just mentioning that it’s odd that the video is four months old but almost all the comments are from very recently.

@@TheMrCHELL Yes it was an accident. The ammonium nitrate fertiliser that had been kept at the port (stupidly enough) in unsafe conditions for two or so years, exploded because of a fire in the warehouse where fireworks were also kept, so this was the result of incredible ignorance. The fertiliser was there because some ship had basically not been able to leave the port and long story short the cargo was kept in some warehouses there. Some dangerous jackass then decided to store fireworks in the same warehouse. Locals had begged for the dangerous chemical to be moved but it wasn't. Basically some omega level imbeciles caused this to happen.

Faith, The substance of things hoped for and evidence of things not seen. There’s a missing puzzle piece in everyone’s heart. People try multiple things to fill that hole like sex, drugs, alcohol etc. But it’s only temporary and makes the hole even bigger. Making the good things in your heart spill out. But That missing puzzle piece is God. Only God can fill that emptiness in your heart. And when you accept God he gives you his Holy Spirit so that you like things that are holy, right and just. He holds you under his protection and his overwhelming never ending reckless love. He puts that puzzle piece into your heart and holds your heart now and forever. You may have never given God a try. You may have only gone based off what you seen or heard. But he is giving you an opportunity to seek him for yourself and get to know him. I don’t know you but I love and care about you. And everything you need is in God. That things that you don’t understand about yourself or you think is dumb, he knows and will give you what you ask. before I was broken, still searching for the truth. But then He came along, and changed my life and eternity. And I never want to go back to the broken person I was before. Because the truth and the light has set me free. Look where my chains are now, gone. I want that for you and each and every person. So I’m sharing the Good News and the best news just so that i meet you guys in heaven. There’s no love greater than this and of God. You’ll never know how a food taste until you taste it. So I’m pleading with you, try it out, see what you become, read the Bible, talk to him in prayer, or at least research about it. All our lives we did nothing for God except ignore and disobey him. But no matter what or who we are, he still loves us. Run to the father. He’s been standing behind you protecting you all this time, but you turned away from him and faced the dark, but now he’s calling on you, his arms has been open all along, waiting to welcome you back home where you belong. He’ll hold you forever. What’s the wait? He’s been waiting for you. God wants to know you. He’s come as close to you as he can. Open the door to him and welcome him in. See what happens. For I hold you by your right hand. I, the Lord your God. And I say to you, ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’ Isaiah 41:13 And this is the gospel of Jesus Christ. ~
