"Eagle" (1977) It is the longest song of ABBA, almost six minutes It is the opening song of their fifth album, entitled "ABBA The Album" (1977), which coincides with the release and premiere of their film "ABBA The Movie" (1977), which records ABBA's memorable tour of Australia and throughout the ABBAmania "Eagle" was released as a single in a few countries, It's a shame it didn't get a chance to be the third single from "The Album" in the UK (following "The Name of the Game" and "Take a Chance with Me" which you'll hear already) "Eagle" Many associate it with progressive rock, and say that its sound is the closest thing to the style of Pink Floyd or other similar groups. others relate it as a tribute to the Eagles group others relate the lyrics to 'Juan Salvador Gaviota' which is absolutely clear that it is a song that you never get tired of listening to, its almost 6 minutes are absolutely rich, and the joint voices of Agnetha and Frida, armored together with the magic of the 'Third Voice', literally fly like eagles , just as the instrumental ending leaves us with that feeling of flying in the sky for many it is the best ABBA song in my opinion it is 9 points, absolutely brilliant... but there is more, and in this same album "Eagle" ABBA performed it in a television presentation in Germany 1978 (in a reduced version, together with another song from this album "Thank you for the music") and in the opening of their TV special in Japan 1978 and these, that is a special scene filming in Stockholm for the movie "ABBA The Movie" (with Agnetha already pregnant, although it is hardly noticeable) and it is performed in their concerts of the 1979 Tour in North America and Europe ABBA made an official video for "Eagle", reduced to just over 3 minutes, without one of the choruses and the final instrumental part, for better dissemination in the medía

Hello again Chase 👍 Eagle 🦅 is a firm favourite with us old ABBA fans, it's the first track on their 1977 album ABBA "The Album" and also features in ABBA "The Movie". I'm afraid you got to listen to the shorter version of album track😱 which is ashame. Another reactor ( Christian oazzuro ) has left you a video link to the original video, it also appears in"The Movie" please if you get the chance watch it the you'll understand why this is a favourite to us old ABBA fans😂 Another great video reaction, until the next one. You should listen to the full-length version of this song - it gets better and better

All in all THANK YOU Chase.You make a lot of us feel happy while sharing your Abba journey with us.And if you ever try 'Summer Night City" then again watch out and keep in mind that this is the other Abba song that has an original Full length version.This one has got a magical intro that unfortunately got chopped too mainly for 'radio friendly' purposes. Btw ABBA had 3 great popular tracks that got edited for same reason. 'Eagle/Summer night city' and Gimme!Gimme!Gimme!.Last one was re-released as an official lyric video by ABBA in October 2022 that also combined the original footage.Fortunately this time it was full lenght and did some justice to the famous missing part we all love.

Great song. This wasn't an earlier song of theirs though. This was from their movie called "ABBA The Movie" in 1977. You should check it out. Very entertaining. It follows their tour of Australia where there was absolute hysteria by fans. They were treated like the Beatles and had huge massive crowds. ABBA mania and of course great music. Try their song "If It wasn't for the nights" it's a great dancing disco type song and "Summer Night City " thanks and take care

Another fantastic opening track from ABBA the Album which was released as a single in some countries but I agree with the comment that the album full length version is the best. Some great keyboard wizardry from Benny on this and as ever the girl’s voices were soaring high like the Eagle.

The song here was shortened for the music video; the full length album version is the best has cool electric guitar riff instrumentals at end

The short version left out the fantastic outro with the unique guitarsolo!!

You really need to listen to the studio version wich is way better. This is the single version and a great guitar solo was cut out to get Radio play ..in the 70s songs need to be short, but ABBA had there own rules 😊

The strange colours in the video, eg on their faces, is not because this video is older (it's somewhere in the middle of their catalogue). I think they experimented with special effects here and tried to make it look a bit psychedelic.

There is only one fan video with a long album version 5:11 and the great middle part of the synthesizer guitar musical; There are fans who say it's prog rock. OK. not really important; For me THE VISITORS (unfortunately no video; worthy opener in the current Voyage concerts in London) is one of the most interesting gems. Eagle wasn't a worldwide single either, but it was number 1 in Belgium with the most loyal ABBA fans in terms of the charts.
