It's really the youtube algorithm, it fucks up the recommended section. They prefer repeating old videos or memes over 'small' artists.

Advertising, partnerships, contracts. Capitalism. That's the 4 bigs of how you get popular but there's other aspects like quality, demographic of the consumers and the target audience. You have to have a nice balance of all these to get "big" or get "recognition". He is on the right track though, quality content and he has costume animations to go with the videos to create brand recognition, etc. But only time will tell if he gets "big".
