Yes it is sad, but their intro when being matched says the back story where Yoshimitsu wants to avenged all the manji clan members that was killed by Bryan Fury.

Technically yoshimitsu ending does that, and I kinda like it cause it's in a way a bad ending for both, bryan dies, but yoshimitsu does too, now being fully controlled by the yoshimitsu sword and azazel

This ending was better than his last three or so. No character development for Bryan after Tekken 5. He was a corrupt cop with a mysterious and sinister history but then he becomes a maniacal anarchist with zero dialogue and a one dimensional personality.

It is post Tekken 5. Not counting Street Fighter X Tekken. Tekken 5 is the most Bryan spoke. I think in Tekken 6 and 7 he said "Come on" in his pre fight quotes. But it was a reused voice clip from Tekken 4. I believe Bryan spoke 2 times in this game. The "Exciting" line and he says "Die" in Yoshimistu's ending.
