I was hesistant to pick her up since historically I sucked at mishima at ewgf. After seeing this I might just try her. Heihachi was never a heavy wavu ewgf mishima and coupled with som Lidia traits. I could probably play like I did Lidia. Can't wait to try it out.

i noticed an interesting detail. during her yaksha sweep (5:43), she screams "ashi", which means "foot" in japanese, referencing where she's going to attack. heihachi did the same in t7, though not only with foot. i think there are more moments like this that i just didn't notice, but anyways i find it really cool that they included even small things like this

5:17 with perfect execution this electric kick is a 18f long range CH mid, looks like our heihachi f3 is still on the menu boys 6:24 extremely similar to bryan 3+4, which is also 18f. If this is CH this move is insane 4:55 extremely similar to bryan northern cross, which is also 15f, again if this is CH we might be cooking something devious 4:58 looks like a ratchet kick, same startup frames, unfortunate we dont get advatange on hit, this could solve all of reinas "poor lows" but it is what it is

Late reply, but no. Look at the frame advantage, specifically the one in brackets. The number in brackets is the advantage you have if the opponent tech rolls, if that number wasn't there this would be absent. So yeah, you can roll backwards.

I've noticed that the younger generation characters in T8 like Jin (Devil Jin included) and Reina have some strings that can be abused with little to no execution. While older characters like Kazuya and Lee still needs more precise executions.

@GrownManPat Jin has been apart of Tekken for nearly 2 decades since T3. However, canonically, which is what I think they meant by “younger generation”, Jin is in his early 20s (21-23) as opposed to Kazuya and Lee (50 and 49 respectively).

Genuine question: do people actually memorize these combos? Or do they just remember maybe a handful of good moves and like three actual complicated things?

Yes, they memorize them, but not only the inputs - properties, frame data, height, how to sidestep. The number of moves is one of the reasons why Tekken is considered one of the most difficult fighting game series to learn.

It is also true that all characters tend to have "Top moves" that are the ones you'll be using the most (because their properties are good for one reason or another, usually frame data), so you can start off by learning those to ease yourself into a character and pick up the less good moves as you play for mixing it up and combos. You'll pick them all up eventually just by playing the game and labbing characters now and then, it'll become muscle memory as Jakub said.

My only complaint about Reina is that her default costume is underwhelming. She definitely needed something more badass than that. Luckily she has that red costume with the oni mask. That looks WICKED. :46 I like it. Very Heihachi of her. 5:18 a GOD DAMN ELECTRIC KICK YES! That's what I wanted! Now we just need a Mishima grappler. Electric Wind God Giant Swing.

@@MrWasabiTrash Heihachi having weak lows is a bit of a myth IMO. cd4 is +8 and only the most seasoned, most amazing players in the world are reacting to db2 which does a shit load of damage. The game exists outside of the same 20 tournament players we've been watching for years.

KI Charge gives CH properties and chip damage to all moves. It can be a gimmick, but it can also give good mixups for characters that have very fast low CH launchers.

Idk about that. Look at 3:11 It seems you can just use df3 to do simple crouch dash. You might not be able to do the better wavedash (it got electric effect) but it still better than not doing it at all.

crouch dash input isnt that hard. It's really just a traditional fighting game shoryuken input except you can do it slower. You'll get used to it

What if she's not Heihachi's return... But *Jinpachi's* Return instead? She's really nice and respectful to Jin but she already seems to dislike Kazuya out the gate. Which seems more like a Jinpachi thing since Heihachi hated both his son and Grandson pretty much equally. Plus the Purple Dark Energy is only really seen with 2 characters directly tied to the Mishima's, Jinpachi and Azrael. And this obviously ain't Zafina so I don't think it's Azrael.

df3 wave dashing feels like a pointless addition. It's just over simplifying something that shouldn't be simplified. At least it nerfs the damage of her wave dash moves if you do it like that, tho. A normal wind god fist does 20 damage, doing it after df3 did 15

i feel like it’s a sf6 modern mode addition, less damage but easier to input so it might be more accessible to someone who’s intimidated by mishima execution but obviously they’ll need to learn it one day to use their full potential, that’s just my take

@@realchezboi I'm concerned with how this will affect the speed of the moves. An electric itself is 11 frames fast, but usually the fastest it can be is 14 frames due to the inputs. if you can just do df3, 2 to do a godfist now, does that mean it can be 12 frames fast?

It's looks like you still need just frame crouch dash for electric. Still... There's many strings can be abused with little to no execution. Even T8 Devil Jin is now ended up like this. Why you need EWGF when you can just f1+4. New f3+4,1 that's being mid and safe on block. Dive kick without flying stance. New Hellsweep laser string with ridiculous range that launch.

@@obiyofi9792 Oh yeah, you're right i didn't catch that first. As long as they have the foresight to not allow something like df3~2 or df2+3, all is good... Well other than she has a generic normal hit launching df2 - something most Mishima don't have.

Sadly her side throws are the same as her default ones, but at least the throw is utilized as dominatrix moves

Not to mention that you can simply crouch dash by df+3 instead of DP motion like any Mishima. Although you still need just frame DP motion for electric move. But feels like she's more braindead than Jin. Hell...even Devil Jin is braindead now. Why bother EWGF when his new moves is very plus on block by pressing only f1+4. Also the new stance like f3+4,1 is also plus on block.

My problem is that almost every weakness is covered. Every frame is covered plus a very variety of attacks, evasion, throws, pokes. After the boys have their post nut clarity it's all annoying and unnecessarily cheap.@@obiyofi9792

I've been pessimistic about this game and most of the time I see more of it, it just further reinforces my notion about this game being a piece of shit. I have a feeling it's going to be the SF5 of tekken.
