Jared Rhodes Well to me ... It doesn't look like shotokan ... something about his punches ... doesn't even look like karate ... but maybe it's just that he is too fast for me to see what going on .... Jin on the other hand has some nice and clean punches like in shotokan but ... still not shotokan ... its's probably some fantasy made up karate like style ... both for kazuya and jin ... there are other karate styles but I've seen just shotokan so far and a little of wado-ryu and shito-ryu ... but I'm no expert so I'll just call it made up fantasy karate like style

Error 404 Ah I see. I know the Mishima style is a made up version of Karate. But I thought it was based of Shotokan. The only thing I know for sure that is Shotokan is Makoto from Street Fighter. But I'm no expert either.

Jared Rhodes Well, of course, the MIshima Style of Karate is a fictionalized karate style. Still, i believe it's based on traditional karate, so shotokan is a not bad comparison. Of course, the fantasy elements make it quite different, and Kazuya, specifically, uses many uppercut punches, wich are from boxe, like Error 404 was correctly observing, and also some axe kicks, wich are from kyokushin. Jin was told in game to use Mishima style in the beginning, and then switched to another style, wich is suspected by many to be kyokushin, since he studied it in Australia, where that style is very diffused. But i don't know Jin well enough to tell, also he's too often in Devil Mode. Kazuya's karate probably is not shotokan, but a fantasy version, but many of his moves are similar to shotokan.

Warg, the 2nd Judging from the movements they make, you're somewhat right, whether this was completely intentional or not. I only have one big doubt: how can you assume Tekken 3 Jin was using Shito Ryu? Just asking, i'm pretty curious
