Tekno EB48 2.1 1:8 Competition Buggy Part 1

Something different this time. I got into a new hobby during last year, competition RC racing. Here I present the full build video of the latest kit from Tekno, the 1:8th scale EB48 2.1. This kit is an upgrade from the previous EB48 2.0 that came out a couple of years ago.
This is the first video which include the unboxing, differential assembly, front and rear gearbox, front and rear end assemblies, camber links and front spindle/carrier assembly.
This video series is dedicated to my good friend George Chamberlain who let me film the build of his new kit.
I hope you like the video and find it interesting. Depending of the popularity of these videos, I might upload more related videos on this subject. Enjoy!!!

Can you please tell me (if you remember) where you got that specific pick tool? I’m looking on Amazon and they all have crazy bends where yours seems very slight. Also I bought this car (my daughter wants to give it to me for Christmas so I have to wait 🤣) and your build video is the best I’ve seen, so glad I found your video, THANK YOU!!

I bought mine on Amazon. They come as a set with most of them have crazy bends. But there are one or two with straight point. Good luck with your build. The first time building a buggy can be daunting and I hope the videos will help you. But overall it is a straight forward build.

Thank you so much for this video. I am looking at buying this kit and your video will save me many hours of frustration on how to get this together. Great detail and I am impressed on the build quality of the kit. Any suggestions or upgrades to consider before assembly? I wouldn't want to get it all together and then try to get the Loctite out if I wanted to change the bearings to something better.

Glad you found the video helpful! Thank you for your support and sorrry for the late response. Unfortunatly due to my heavy workschedule and life in between, I did not run a single session since last September (2022). So sorry that I cannot suggest any upgrades. Hopefully I will be able to come back and maybe do upgrade suggestions video.

Sorry but 1 more question, I know you said you use silicone grease on the diff gasket, what brand do you use or what the best one to use?

Not very important to be honest. I use silicone grease just to protect/seal the O-ring. I bought mine from amazon and called Silverhook silicone grease. But you can skip this step if you want.

Wait the eb48 2.1 comes with a body in the kit? Crap I ordered a new body for it at same time I ordered the kit because it doesn’t specify it comes with the body like my et48 2.0 did.

Yes it comes with a body which is a little different than the prevous one. It has four grooves at the bottom sides so you can put scratch tape. Well you can never have too many body shells as they tend to break quite easily.
