There's nothing wrong with corrosive primed ammo, but it's not cool when the box says "non corrosive" on it :\ #corrosiveammo #545x39mm #762x39mm #telaammo

From what I've heard more recently, Tela has passed the nail test every time recently. The first batch had corrosive primers, but since then they've fixed the problem. (Allegedly)

I bet this is rebranded vampir corrosive x39, that stuff flooded the market back in 2021 and nobody wanted corrosive ammo when there was so much to choose from at the time. I had an SKS rust heavily inside the piston tube and barrel after 1 box of Red Army Standard and 2 days of sitting. Luckily i clean my firearms frequently and prevented any major damage.

@@froheschwanz Red Army Standard is an importer brand that sources their ammo from all over the world. It's made in different countries and factories depending on the batch. Some is corrosive, most isn't.
@HeyPaco6 ай бұрын
@@Shoeteenplaques its not. Theyre just a importer that slaps their label on any ammo they can get . i recently bought some since it is listed as non corrosive believing it was until i got it and checked the head stamp and it was BSP Ammo, which IS corrosive. My barrel started to slowly rust while at a range session using BSP ammo that was in these red army boxes. luckily i cleaned it with windex and ballistol as soon as i got back home before it got worse. so it went away . so depends when you buy it . Pretty much playing roulette when you buy their brand.

This really sucks. I bought a little over 1k rounds of the Tela Ammo in 7.62x39 and was not aware of it being corrosive. Ive since ran 200rds of it through one of my rifles. So far i dont see any corrosion....yet. This is disappointing.
@BuffRANGE5 ай бұрын
Yep. It could just be this one lot in particular.. It sucks to always assume it's corrosive, but it wouldn't be bad to check your rifle after firing sessions.

Tks for ur Video!!! I shot hundreds of rounds between Wolf, Red Army Standard, Golden Tiger, and my favorite Silver Bear...I checked my SAIGA AK 74 now and I have 0 corrosion!!! The best decision I made was to buy everything I could in those 2 years... now I have more than 3000 rounds of 5.45x39 and another 3000 of 7.62x39 among these Russian brands... but now I'm afraid to use my AK-74 for fear of not being able to replace my stock!!!

Talk about false advertising,,I know there is nothing wrong with corrosive ammo,, you gotta do the corrosive clean out and all that jazz.. But, to say it’s non-corrosive and potentially mess up someone’s equipment because they think they can shoot it without having to clean it ,,is F’d up…

That's the issue at hand indeed. Marking it Non-Corrosive and it is, or someone is tainting production with Corrosive primers is what we want to get to the bottom of.

I mean the incorrect labeling thing is not cool, but i kinda think its almost a good thing.....teach people to be diligent and thorough about cleaning/maintenance/valuing what they have. You cant deny we live in a "single use"/"ill deal with it later" world currently. Again, even with that in mind, its totally wrong to be selling it as NONCor if it actually is. Label it correctly, knock a couple cents per rnd off and people still gobble it up. I dang well would. Then again. Im ocd about cleaning/maintenance.

Of course its corrosive. Non corrosive priming compound is more expensive and harder to make. They are probably still using a mechanically mixed lead or mecury based priming compound like H-48. Its dirt cheap and extremely easy to produce, but unfortunately it will eat your firearms from the inside out. You also can get heavy metal poisoning from breathing in the vaporized priming compound over a prolonged period of exposure. That is why i personally do not shoot steel case 5.56 out of my ARs.
