12 жыл бұрынMany of Telemann's surviving orchestral suites were written during his post as the musical director of Frankfurt. Close proximity to the Darmstadt court allowed for extensive exchange of musicians on numerous occasions. Many of Telemann's overtures have concertante instrument roles. Telemann was known to express dislike in the extroverted display of virtuosity in the Italian solo concerto and instead favored this type of construction.

The opening, as well as the entire Ouverture, is in "The French Style" and was used by Bach, Handel, Telemann and countless others. That is why it sounds so familiar. BRIAN

That Loure is really weird! It shifts to a remote key suddenly and then shifts back.

There's a keyboard arrangement of this wonderful piece (attributed to Melante) in the Andreas Bach Book (in E flat) if I recall correctly.

Melante is a pseudonym (an anagram, actually) that Telemann used in his Frankfurt years
