@@GardoMcM you sir are a dumbass! You entirely missed my point. I know what Latin means in English. That was my point. These people aren't Latin, they're Latin American, and only so because of Spain's influence there - Spain being a Latin European country. In Spanish, Latino means Latin in all matters, except when referring to the language: that would be latín.

@Chico Beers For your information, I just got you reported for hate speech. You should also learn that our hygiene habits match the rest of the civilized world and that bankrupsy happened 11 years ago, now we are a "success investment story", like many other countries that went through the same path. Oh, and that I have very positive memories of Canada and its people. In fact, two of my dearest friends serve as diplomats in the Hellenic delegation there. Greetings from Greece where summer lasts until November and we are enjoying it to the fullest.
@licorivivaldi3110
@licorivivaldi3110 2 жыл бұрын
@Chico Beers You just got your second report for verbal harassment and hate speech. If "being nice" is the main characteristic of Canadians as you claim, then you probably belong to another nationality (which would explain the grammar mistakes and rudness).
@licorivivaldi3110
@licorivivaldi3110 2 жыл бұрын
@Chico Beers A "t" and an "e" (in "rudeness") indeed escaped my fast typing, as you so graciously pointed out, thus, I think I should return the favor of a correction: it is "you're (apostrophe and abbreviation of the verb)" an" (the "n" is needed for euphony reasons, since the next word starts with an "i") idiot". Just for the sake of grammar, eloquence and writing style that you seem to value as much as I do of course. As for the rest of the expressions you used, I'm afraid I'm not very familiar with, but I suppose is something a true "nice, respectful" Canadian like yourself would have said. Greetings again.

No. It would not work. This is geared for the American audience. Besides neither of the comedians here speak Spanish fluently to do that. and Secondly it would not be funny at all hearing Spanish throughout the whole segment, if you want that tune in any day to Telemundo. The joke here is their accents and the culture from the eyes of the American/English speaking and hearing audience.. All of the Mexican-American-Latin-American comedians do not deliver their stand up or comedy material in Spanish. ie: John Leguizamo George Lopez, Gabriel Iglesias. Because the American audience would not understand it at all. Its is mainly all about the Latin-American-Spanish speaking culture and experience here in the U.S. This segment for example would never work in Peru or Mexico etc. They would not now what the hell they are talking about.

This is true, here we dont pay attention to Winter.Olimpics, because we cant relate to that. When I went to the University in US, was the first.time I found out about it. But.there are latinos that have snow like Argentina and Chile. I am from the Caribbean, it is hot in here, actually I dont like it that hot or cold, I like places that are cool.

He’s right though, there actually are a few nice beaches in Vancouver. A little on the cool side most of the year, but tolerably comfortable in late summer. Beautiful, as they are unique and few.

Sounds V and B were interchangeably used in Latin and evolved differently in different regions. In Spanish particularly in the Latin America countries they don't say the sound V. For example Havana is read "Abana" and is even written domestically Habana. In Spain they actually use the V sound in contrast. So "Bankober" is actually a likely way Latin Americans would call it :)

nikoladd uh... no. Idk where you “learned” Spanish but we most certainly do pronounce ‘B’ and ‘V’ differently in Latin America. We also have 2 extra letters that the English speakers don’t have which is “ll” and “ñ”.
