Paul, I'm an amateur photographer who owns a Canon T6 who just enjoys taking photos of the birds at my various bird feeders and critters in my yard. I've been watching a few of your videos the last two days and really appreciate the detailed, but simplistic way you teach us amateurs. I have learned so much from the last two days. Thank you.

I'm a self taught photographer and even though I have learned these things from experience and comprehensive knowledge- I wouldn't be able to explain to someone else with detail and proper verbage this information so I try to watch videos almost anytime I have a chance to absorb the information... Even though I know most of it I still learn something Here and there but this is beyond the most informative video I have come across for 'beginners'. You touch the same basic principles that most other videos I watch do as well but you give so much more than any of the many I've seen. I love this. I can actually explain now how I do x,y,z referencing the actual information. It's like when I took math and they asked us to show how we got 2 and 3 makes 5 - my head says well... I just know 2 and 3 equal five. But what they're looking for (and what tool you've just given me) is me writing out 2+3 = 5 and showing the technical breakdown. Love!!!

Always enjoy your videos! Not only are these good tips for beginners, but they are a handy "refresher lesson" for those of us who are not new to photography. I have also learned that the simple act of pressing the shutter button can cause some camera shake... esp noticeable at longer focal lengths. Using a remote shutter release can help with that, also.

Another great video! I got my first 35mm camera and telephoto lens in 1978. It was a Kodak Retina Reflex III. It was about 15 years old when I got it. I had tons of fun with it. I still have a lot of the prints I took then, and I think I started off pretty well. We didn't have KZfaq, back then, so I learned everything from books or trial and error.

Another excellent video thanks Paul. I used to do a fair bit of wildlife photography, especially of birds in flight; when using the telephoto lens I found the best way to keep it as steady as possible was to bend my left arm and rest the lens on the crook of the elbow while holding the camera in my right hand. This was a great way to eliminate shake with a moving target.

That being said, I feel the same about crop factors, but if you do a video on it I’lll be sure to watch it. Brilliant videos. I am new to photography so I just keep going over and over your videos. I have never heard of the crop factor. So now I’ll keep that in mind. I am looking forward to the day I am a lot faster at putting all the information together before I take a photo. I’ll take a few reasonable photos within the limits of my kit lens and my understanding, then the next time I’ll completely forget. I write things down and try to take it with me wherever I go.that way o hope to get faster each time I practice. Thanks for your time and wonderful videos.
