Great Comparison, seems that 100-300 is better in some cases than 100-400, right?

Thanks so much for showing us. I'm considering trading my 100-300 in for the longer lens. I was pleased to see that the 100-300 image quality seemed to match the 100-400 in almost all cases. If I look very carefully at the image around 1:27 and 1:28, the brown twig looks slightly sharper on the 100-400. So similar that if IQ is the only criterion it wouldn't be worth paying almost twice as much for the 100-400. But if you need the extra zoom, and if image stabilization is important (clearly superior on the 100-400), it is worth the extra cost.
