+Frank Blair Where's your favorite place to fish in North Carolina, besides Cherokee? Anywhere they stock good fish in NC?

Cherokee is a good place for sure since the local tribe stocks it continuously. There are also a TON of wild streams. The watershed that flows into Fontana Lake has about 8-10 streams that are blocked from cars completely. You have to take a boat across the lake and then walk the streams. Abrams Creek, Eagle Creek, Hazel Creek. Bear in mind all of these are small water but very peaceful. You might not run into 3-4 people fishing the entire day. Also tons of streams, both wild and stocked around the Gatlinburg area. Little Pigeon River from Pigeon Forge to Gatlinburg stocked frequently because of the high tourist traffic, very accessible, Also might want to fish over in Townsend, TN. Great fly shop there and does not get as much traffic as the Gatlinburg area. Hope this helps. Frank

MrGreenjeep97 as someone who's fished all over the country, it ain't the best east of the Mississippi. Maybe throwing corn at fresh stockers, but it ain't the best. I would rank it about 5th in the state of TN.

I fish this area often Earl. Keep up what you are doing at home and here. Me and my buddies get severely tickled at people like this and their kindergarten trout tactics. We wait for them to leave at 9 or 10 in the morning with their 7 fish then go behind them and catch 30 to 60 with flies. Their havin fun though. It's all good. Ain't mad at em but they can't fish a lick. No offense to this bunch. Speaking about most bait throwers for sure though.

@@mandovapehater6988 if you use clear floats most of the time you won't spook em, i drift nymphs and wet flies for creek trout most of the time and only use eggs when it's still rather cold

zach swanson You can use all those methods. It depends on the water you are fishing. A float keeps you from getting hung up. A small split shot can be effective if you are a veteran angler and know how to drift eggs properly.

Josh Higdon You are more likely to kill a trout with a fly rod from over exhaustion. I use both and I can tell you that I can safely land and release the fish in a fraction of the time on my spinning setup.
