Sorry for late reply but I have been testing the same setup to see if I have the same problem. Have you set a static lease for the DJA0231 in the Arcadyan modem (Go to Advanced > Local Network > Static Leases)? This will prevent another device having the same IP address. Or you could change the DHCP Start Address in the Arcadyan to 192.168.0.4 and make IP address of DJA0231 192.168.0.2

@@DavidSmith-ir4hl Thanks for getting back so soon David. As above you mention, no haven't tried any of that as yet.I try again tomorrow with your idea. I had another crack at trying to get it to work this afternoon and things got a bit messy so in the end I rebooted the Arcadyan router and packed the Technicolor away for another go tomorrow. We live upstairs in a two story home with the main router and data ports to feed the rest of the house downstairs in the Bedroom/office. Family have moved back home (downstairs) so we intend to block the stairwell off which will kill off the wifi signal we get. My thinking is if I can hardwire the Technicolor router upstairs that should give me wifi coverage for most of upstairs. If I'm not being to forward I will let you know how your idea works out. The Arcadian LH1000 can be used on a NBN FTTC connection with the LH1000 WAN port connected to the Ethernet port of the NBN FTTC NTD.

The VLAN ID is not an issue if you are using the Telstra modem in Bridge mode. @@CaptainBungonia Are you sure modem is the cause of your problems? Some FTTN links are not very reliable due to the cable being susceptible to intermittent faults. In my experience an unreliable FTTN connection is usually due to a modem fault rather than a modem fault.

@@DavidSmith-ir4hl Definitely the TP-Link Archer VR1600v. It's connected to my phone outlet via a 1 metre length of single-twist shielded cable and there's no nearby electrical cross-talk interference. The NBN (formerly Telstra) copper break-out pillar is located alongside my driveway less than 20 metres away. The copper connecting this pillar to the nearby NBN fibre cabinet was completely replaced two years ago. My NBN download and upload speeds are consistently hitting the mark. My TP-Link Archer VR1600v has a tendency to overheat - even out in the open with plenty of air circulation - so I switch it off overnight every other day. I switch in on the next morning and after it's fully booted up, can't access non-cached websites or download emails via Thunderbird (POP3 connection failures). I've tried several devices (PC, laptop, tablet, phone) with the same outcome. I have to reboot the Archer 2-3 times before it's fully functioning.

Beware: TPG say that if you use a BYO Modem, VOIP will not be available. I think this is because the PSTN phone number specific settings are not customer-accessible via the settings menu, and would anyone but TPG know what thse settings should be? Probably not. I'm also with TPG, but after hassling them due to long-term drop-outs and no-service faults, they sent an NBN Tech who had to remake corroded terminations in almost all the joints in the pit outside our house, then some in between us and the Node Cabinet. We now have good reliable and usually fast NBN and after sorting out a few other VOIP issues (can't call numbers on certain exchanges, cant call 13XXXX or 1300 numbers, etc.), all is now good. It isn't perfect, but IMHO I'm better off with a devil I know rather than jumping to one I don't.

Device will not work with optus or vodafone SIMs with standard firm ware installed. Custom firmware can be installed on the Technicolor modem which enables you to use the phone with optus and vodafone SIMs. Installing the custom firmware is quite complicated. There is a link on how to install custom firmware on Whirlpool modem forum. Search for Technicolor firmware.

Yes I agree they are a bargain second hand considering there good Wi-Fi performance.
