That propwash is just brilliant. Imagine the stress on the blade tip.

Congratulations to the cameraman for keeping the camera so steady 😂
@jayforerunner9653 жыл бұрын
Based on how stable the camera is I’m assuming that there is no cameraman and instead they probably just perched the camera onto a post at the haul of the ship pointing at the propeller

See people! That's my phobia! Being underwater in the deepest part of the ocean and watching in horror as a massive ships spinning propeller the size of an airplane passing by me!!!!!
@gammaraider3 жыл бұрын
For those who suffer from submechanophobia: This looks like a giant propeller, but it's not. Seeing as this is a 24m catamaran, it most likely uses two relatively high revving diesels of about 300-800 hp each. This prop is likely only about 50 cms big and only a meter under water. The little prop is more scared of you than you are of it ;-)

I wonder how big is that propeller and all the thrust It’s giving
@dunnybrush3 жыл бұрын
I’ve read that large ships props rotate about about 75rpm, so this vessel must be small in comparison.

@@j.franklin21 There is a commercial interest against biological research. If an ecological system that might get destroyed by a planned industrial project isn't thoroughly researched and understood, it is hard to argue why it is worth saving and thus preventing the industrial project. Common scheme.

I like the stroboscopic effect...but being behind the propeller at 1000 RPM not to mention the size is quite scary.."I wonder how many sharks have been killed while attacking this noise maker in the deep sea not knowing that it's a death chamber"
@gammaraider3 жыл бұрын
The propeller size is only about 50 cm's at best on a cat like this. Possibly even smaller.
@seemslegit62033 жыл бұрын
I mean, a 50cm prop will still do serious damage, but one from a large ship would just slap you out of existence
