Templar X First Real Ride

I love the sound of this motor!
I took my Templar X out for my first real ride, my lapel mic came undone inside my helmet so half of the video you can barely hear me, but you can hear that motor sing.
There were a few problems with my assembly, I forgot to tighten the rear view mirrors and I still have to work on the carb adjustments. But overall the bike ran great, very responsive and peppy to say the least.
I am very happy with the Templar X.

I've just ordered mine. I work for Amazon. I'm gonna put the 300cc big bore kit and Nibi Carb and oil cooler... heat gun all the graphics off and swap the tires for some good 60/40 DS tires. Since I street and trail ride more than strictly off road ride. I bought a new (in 2019) Kaw. KLX 230SE with ABS. Loved the bike, but really wanted the KLX250 Water Cooled, but they didn't have one in Digital Camo. So I bought the Black/Red/Blue 230 because they had a lot of rebates and promotions I ended up paying about $4200 for that bije and could buy 2 of the Templars for that price today.

@Realifesaiyan1 that seems to be the concesis of what it is, it seems super fun, I still don't know the difference between the x and the m aside from the m has 5 gears and costs $100 more

It is very much like my old KTM250RFS, the suspension isn't nearly as good as the KTM, but the feel is very good.

The cool thing they do layAway so by summer you'll be cruising I'm getting the kpx tho I saw this one but it wasn't the X model

good morning, does anyone know what sprocket to put on my templar x to make it go faster, since in 6th gear I'm going to 40mph at 5000 revs, that's very slow since I almost always go on the street, in how many revs do you go to 40 or 50 mph?

Good cruising capt. So is it really better then the kpx I ask this question because I have a kpx on layAway and don't wanna pass up a better choice my money is at venom powersports and they have a lot of bikes to choose like the street looking ones and the kpv scooter

The lifan kpx has fuel injection, depends if you like that or not...Most do. They are both high quality, in terms of Chinese bikes. The 6th gear is a must. Kpx is heavier as well, and appears to be more street then trail / rather than the templar x, trail to street look.

@jutsFL the Templar is like thousand cheaper so its def a good deal I'm just thinking of that kpv scooter going 70 no gears or clutch sounds pretty fire to me

Hey there, Noticed you're in FL. How hard was it to get this plated? I'm planning on buying one once the funds come up, and it mostly will be used for offroad, but would be cool to have the option to take it onroad as well.

It wasn't hard, make sure your paper work says "motorcycle" only. If not you can request another from the seller.

That was a good rip at 2:10 and again at 3:40. Was this before or after the carburetor & sprocket upgrade? Do you still own this X? You make good video. 🙂👍👍

I put the carb on before I even started it and it didn't take long for me to put the 42 tooth sprocket on as well. This video was after all those mods, it was a great bike and I really liked riding it. But it went to someone who needed it more than I did. I wouldn't think twice about getting another some day.

If it's pop in its too lean I went thru the same thing with my Ducar 212cc pull start motor engine lol

It's lean pretty much through out the range, but it's only an issue right off of idle with a little bog. I can ride around it pretty much and just slip the clutch a little bit to over come the drive line snatch as the motor hits. Someone will figure a way to work around it in time, until then I'll just keep riding it and loving life.

How are you? I would like to know how you manage to drive on the street, how did you get your license plate? What did you receive when the motorcycle arrived in order to get the license plate and what do you need for the DMV?

X-Pro sent me a MOS,(make sure it says MOTORCYCLE and not off road motorcycle, X-Pro will change it if you ask them) and a title which I took down to my local DMV and they processed it with no problems. The first time it didn't go through, but I went to another smaller branch and they gave me my registration and plate. I am in Florida and I think it's a little easier here. Do some research and talk to more people, the more the better. Everyone has a different story, but I've plated two of these imported motorcycles with no problems other than a few funny looks.

All I've done is hand guards, Nibbi 30mm PE carb and DID chain. I still need to get a skid plate for it.

Yes, it has power. For an air cooled, single overhead cam, two valve motor it has great power. The compression ratio is a little higher than the other comparable bikes, that gives good low end grunt and it winds out pretty good. Plus it's much lighter than a lot of the other bikes and I think the exhaust note is amazing.

I'm 5-10 and it's a stretch for me to get my leg over the bike, then I'm on my toes when stopped. I think a tall guy could ride it just fine.

I might have long legs but I'm 5'8" and this is perfect, though I'd never expect to put both feet on the ground when stopped. Right foot stays over the brake, left foot firmly planted.

It is high, but when you get a leg over it, the bike settles into the suspension quite a bit. I have a 30" inseam and can get my feet down comfortably at a stop.
