First video dedicated to the pipe #template #layout. The #development of a #cylindrical ferrule cut by a plane oblique to its axis is one of the fundamental paths that allow us to perform more complex.
This is the first part. In the following I will discuss more practical details on this track.

One of my first tests was to draw this in my mechanical drafting class. Before Autocad and all the other nifty computer programs. Then it was referred to as a truncated cylinder. Was a challenge to plot the curve but a great thing to complete.

Many thanks for a very interesting video. PLease tell me if you have a video on how to make a template to cut a hole for a cylindrical pipe to intersect a flat surface. (I have tried an elipse, with the proper width and height, but the shape came out wrong). Or if anybody knows of such a video, please show me the link. Thanks again.

This is the "long method". I like this way. The "short method" is faster though, good for on the job.
