You know, when No Man's Sky came out there ended up being a lot of talk about how the notion of infinite possibilities made by RNG was actually more limiting and repetitive than actual crafted experiences. I wonder if Yogg is sort of the same way; almost every Yogg play is unique, but in reality it feels like it just falls into the same "bad", "decent", and "busted" categories whenever he is played. There is no actual sense of wonder anymore :/

Reynad in your yogg games you discovered a bug! in the third yogg game he mind games a knife juggler, and then got silvermoon portal, but had a full board. The knife juggler went as if a minion came on the board! Congrats!

Actually not a bug, the juggler was triggering off of Yogg entering play - his effect occurs after battlecries resolve - just like if a Cabal shadow priest steals a knife juggler it triggers off of the cabal.

Well, Reynad did predict he would get fucked by this card when it was revealed. Though in all fairness, everybody's gotten the short end of the stick at least once from a Yogg.

Yogg is always good to me because I play him the instant I can regardless of board state, and if I can't I stall the game until I can.

Yogg is the reason i don't play as much HS as i did before. I used to participate in tournaments and some small cups, and get at least rank 5 each month - most of the time i got to legend... Now i just play a few brawls and get to rank 20-15, while I'm waiting for the god of fuck-you-in-the-ass to rotate out of Standard so i can play one of my favorit games again.

Zak R It's not just that it's not fun, it makes no sense to have in the game while they're trying to push the game into a competitive scene. It's like if you had a button in chess that had the text; flip a coin - 50% of the time you win.

I think that's exactly why the card isn't fun, over 50% of the time yogg makes everything else that's happened that game irrelevant.

Dr. Spasticat if they add a counter to it i might play, but as the game is right now it's simply not fun to play. 80% of the games that are played are coin-flips, you either get a good starting hand, a good Yogg or you lose. Less and less skill required.

i feel like yogg is just some card that denys all the work both players have done and just takes all the credit. It doesnt really matter how fucking hard you tryna build your board or get on tempo, opponent plays yogg too much rng, you could still lose. It's actually pretty dumb lol

I heard this comment many times but still not quite sure what people mean by it. When you play a strategy game , don't you find fun in actual strategy behind game. Isn't fun supposed to be to outplay your opponent in a battle of wits. Even now with the general state of the game here and there I have some pretty fun matches in HS. Surviving against shaman with priest for example , thou his game plan is linear and simple as a priest you have many choices and one misplay will lose you game , or playing against some interesting deck or last fun game I had was with ctun warrior against dragon priest who completely outplayed me. Sure I lost but it was still fun , and I learned something about how to play that match up. I'm not against RNG as long its a secondary factor that can sometimes win you games if you played well. In essence what you are saying is that game in which luck is more important than skill is more fun for you. Do you actually find winning by playing Yogg fun ? Or do you find game you won just by pure luck fun ?

Well I actually was using different music but I ran into some copyright issues and I didn't want to postpone the video much later. :( You have suggestions for music? Would love to hear them! Finding copyright free music that fits the flow of the video and isn't complete trash is pretty tough actually. :P I will try to find more variety if I can. Cheers!

I bet it is because Yogg didn't die, so he was actually summoned; and since battlecries happen before the minion actually hits the board, Knife juggler was summoned before Yogg. This is also verified since the knife is thrown right after the battlecry is complete. I wonder if there would be a knife if Yogg died, probably not.

No, because Knife juggler was the last of the summoned minions. In that turn the order in which the minions were summoned was: mastiff, tinifyn, spiders, knife juggler, Yogg. If Mind Games would have been cast first, there should be a knife for each minion (as long as Knife juggler stays alive).

I hear you. Agro hunter in nax was enough to get me to quit the game. Still enjoy watching highlights, haven't played since. Watching the game acquire more and more frustrating RNG as time progresses makes me feel absolutely terrible for those still involved in the competitive scene. I don't even want to think about how many people have won tournament solely due to randomness... I have a sinking feeling it's pretty much all of them.

yog takes out the fun in the game for me. Old gods came out and all I do is my dailies for gold. sometimes arena or brawl. but yog isn't even constructed. he says make a good 29 card deck and put me in just because I'm so imba

simple , the minion hits the board after the battlecry is over . if the minion hits the field b4 battle cry then u cant destroy mirror entity with eater of secrets . pretty simple

I've had a similarly horrible experience both with and against yogg lately. he's turned into a total dick. the last 3 yoggs i played failed to even do a single point of damage to my opponents 5+ minions, but every single one of them shot me in the face with a single target damage spell at least twice

Im so happy the yogg meta is over, the problem with blizzard making joke cards is that they don't know enough about there game to know when a card will be really good. The entire meta was poisoned with horrible get to turn 10 and see who wins games.

kind of funny hearing his little speech at the end while he was playing a c'thun deck ^^ i mean sure with yogg you have less restrictions but the rng can royally f*** you.. you are playing a 20/20+ that deals stupid amounts of damage (which potentially just flat out kills your opponent) now tell me how it matters then how the rest of the game has played out

***** and that is precisely what i am trying to tell you! i wasn't saying that he was whining about rng or that the effect of yogg and cthun are the same. he said "every fucking idiot can just play spells and yogg saron on turn 10 it doesn't fucking matter does it. doesn't fucking matter how the rest of the game played out" now tell me what you do with a c'thun deck of any kind? you play enablers (equal to playing spells of the yogg deck) the whole game long and on turn 10 or later you play your swingy legendary that potentially ends the game (which means it doesn't matter how the game played out up to that point)

sorry for repeating myself but you are still not getting my point. i have in no way ever said that they are remotely equal when it comes to their rng-factor. and no the "regular game" is not played with one singular legendary 10 mana card in mind which your whole deck is built around and the game gets played in a way to maximize it's effect on the state of the game when played. that was the case with miracle rogue and to some extend it is the case with maly decks or antonidas in freeze mage. but none of those decks have the immediate impact of "you lose the game this turn" (generally speaking)
