The Oberheim DMX claps were heard during the 1985-1994 OWL/TV logo and Owl clapping at the end of 1985-1990 Owl/TV episodes and the Oberheim DMX claps weren’t heard in some other 1990-1994 versions of the 1985-1994 Owl Television logo/1994-1995 Owl Communications logo.

In the 1983 Lustt version of the song “Pillow Talk” (1973), Oberheim DMX and Oberheim DX were heard and in the 1983 Tanya Jackson version of this song, the Yamaha DX7 Sound Sources “ROM 128”B patch “Sloe Bells”, Oberheim DMX and Oberheim DX, Yamaha DX7 internal patch “Brassy Trumpets” and edited Yamaha DX7 Sound Sources “ROM 128”B patch “Bellfry” were heard.

Nice video. I had the entire system dmx/dsx/obxa/ob8/xpander and sold my dmx in the day to get an emu sp1200. Wish oberheim had a next generation dmx with sp1200-type sampling as I loved the human interface and simple programmability on the dmx

The best part about these and the linn drum was to pop up the hood and add the eproms that i was programming for the studio engineers with james brown grunts and percussion. As a dj i wass the only one with the whole oberheim setup oh yeah you definitely need the prommer to make it a complete ser. Beastie boys paul revere was done using the prommer in reverse. Sounds

No offense meant at you! Everything sounds great, I just find the kick to be a bit messy/flammy in its natural state.

+kz1000ps No worries - however, in this video I had tuned the kick pretty low and left it like that because I didn't have time to change it at every song - but the DMX sounds can of course be tuned +/- half an octave, so you can get pretty punchy, non-flabby high-tuned kicks with it. You just need to move the tuning pot inside. If you watch previous of my videos with the DMX, you'll see different (higher) kick tunings.

+sbigglesby Sure, but it's basically like on any other drum machine - just listening to the pattern of a song and reproducing it on the DMX. Are you interested in how to achieve a pattern in particular, or just interested to see how the DMX programming works?

I don't know why but I prefer the DMX just a smidge over the LinnDrum. It's just meatier and grittier sounding with some planet shattering bass drum too. Was the perfect box for 80's hip hop.
