Alpha was on Blockbusters with her daughter in the early 80s. I think they won a couple of a games there. Gene was on the Bill Rafferty version of Card Sharks in 1986, but only won $100 and lost his match. He was more subdued on that show, saying that he had a spouse and a young child, presumably in the two years since his PYL appearance. Lela was on High Rollers with WInk Martindale in 1987, I forget how much she won there.

For those that are saying that the first clip was her being dumb, perhaps, but remember in some games there existed prizes that were more than the top money amount on the board. I think Peter explained when this was the case and that this could be beneficial to the contestant to try to land on that prize (I think it was usually when they had a car prize on the board when this occurred). Of course, Peter explained the situation she was in at that point, but contestants who remembered that possibility could still be thinking that such a prize existed (hell, contestants were STILL trying to figure out the light pattern sequences like Michael Larson did after they added a ton after he broke the game). It's not out of the realm of possibility that she didn't hear that part or thought that a prize like that existed. Or she just really wanted to go to Tokyo and forgot the situation she was in.
@sirharry133 жыл бұрын
The largest prize offered in the entire series was the Mediterranean Cruise valued at $6,298 in 1985 and $6,704 in 1986. So no, no prize would have helped her in that scenario.

That contestant should have picked the $1000 and a Spin on her last spin rather than the trip. Peter tells people that they have to get something with an additional spin to stay in the game when they are more than $5K-$6K behind the leader(they had a car and a couple other prizes worth over $6K on the board from time to time).
