Omg. TGIF! It honestly was the only thing that brought our family together once a week lol. 😂 My personal favorite was "Perfect Strangers".

It only ran for two years from 1992 until 1994 as a mini-series on ABC. Produced by Bickley-Warren Productions and Miller Boyett Productions in association with HBO Independent Productions, a Time Warner Entertainment Company.

Thank you THANK YOU 🙏 for this video! I grew up watching TGIF. I started watching around 10 yo and watched them for years. TGIF was my fun nights and weekend starter. I had forgotten some shows and some i fondly remember, bringing back great memories ❤😊

3:49- The problem with that one was they emphasized the newer muppets while the familiar ones were pretty much regulated to the background. Plus there was too much 'adult' humor for a family show.

Muppets had hit a nadir by the mid-90's post-Jim Henson. People were not interested in watching weird sounding Muppets. Also Muppets were kinda uncool just like Star Wars at the time, being from the 70s and hitting that age where it's dated, but hasn't hit a retro revival yet. Muppets would have a resurgence later, but Disney have made them largely irrelevant and unfunny.

I loved "Two of a Kind" also another one that was not mentioned was "Brother's Keeper". It was about an uptight single father raising his son when his lazy, irresponsible football player brother moves in with them. Honestly it felt like the origins of "Two and a Half Men" and had the same kind of vibe.

I really liked a Going Places which seemed like a reboot of Bosom Buddies with Holland Taylor in the same basic role.

Not quite. It was a 1990-1991 mini-series for ABC with an all star cast for Miller Boyett Productions and HBO Independent Productions. And later it turned into a weekly 1991-1997 TV series without a laugh track for St. Clare Entertainment and Polygram Television for Comedy Central. From the Emmy winning creators of Moving On and Friends.

Of those 10 shows that was listed, I knew about six out of those 10. However, only two of those six shows that I knew about I have heard of but never watched them actually.

My favorite TGIF show was Step by Step. I wish it comes out series DVD. I know it's on paid streaming platforms. Cody was the best.

Step by Step ran for a total of seven successful seasons, this was the final project for Lorimar Television - which is now folded into HBO Independent Productions, a Time Warner Company.

BRO you shoulda showcased Going Places, it had Alan Ruck and Heather Locklear, an amazing theme song, maybe the best of TGIF theme opening all time

Although Grammy Award nominee Mark Lennon made excellent contributions on ABC's Going Places & Getting By as both singer/songwriter, he wanted to do something else in his own time. Since 1994, he moved up from both shows to charity work like singing along for families and friends when he appeared on a number of PBS' variety/music programs such as Austin City Limits, The Lawrence Welk Specials, Great Performances, Evening at Pops and Magic Moments - where he did many extraordinary contributions to help make it all possible.

I remember "2 guys, a girl and a pizza place" but I forgot it was apart of the TGIF line up... I think the reason was my attention was starting to wain on what was on TGIF... right next to Muppets Tonight. Ever since I saw Ryan Renolds in that sitcom, I always kept an eye out for that actor and his next projects and never looked back. lol Talk about some memberberries I forgot was there. :) lol

The sucky thing about Just the Ten of Us is that it got canceled for such a dumb reason. (ABC wanted all the shows to be by one production company). It honestly was a perfect fit for TGIF. Also, a lot of people forget Two guys, a girl, and a Pizza Place was on TGIF because it was MUCH more popular on Wednesday.

Somehow I remember all of these shows to varying degrees. Wasn't there another version of the Baby Talk tv series with different actors?

If I could offer three omissions from the list: “You Wish“ and “Teen Angel“, part of the cavalcade of new shows in fall 1997 when ABC tried to revitalize TGIF by paddling Family Matters and Step by Step off to CBS. obviously not a wise move. “Going Places“, Debuting in fall 1990, this was the show that starred and all adult cast sharing a house in Los Angeles while trying to jumpstart their Hollywood careers. Probably a move to real some of the adults set into TGIF with the later hours showing, they probably figured out it would be best to bring a couple of kids in so they brought in a character to play the side of one of the characters.

Well you completely forgot to mention the two I was thinking of with the success of Sabrina the teenage witch they made two other supernatural themes sitcoms one was about a guy who had a genie and his mother was played by Maureen McCormick. The other one I think you kind of mentioned offhandedly I was thinking it was about somebody who had like a guardian angel maybe that was maybe it was a ghost whatever but it was another supernatural themed sitcom

@@DW3010 yeah I know that there were two series that came out about the same time but you got to admit it appears that they kind of did the same thing a lot of that works too when they got a serious that works they then seem to like to create a lot of other series that are similar. Sabrina the teenage witch was really really popular so then they created to other supernatural theme set cops obviously neither one were anywhere near as popular sense if I remember right neither teen Angel nor you wish lasted very long

@@jonsumner5899 yeah I neither one lasted long. I laugh because my brother has wanted you wish on DVD for years. I told him it was only nine episodes long, and they didn’t even air all the episodes on TV. That’s how long it lasted. 😄
