It was ten years ago that Type O Negative frontman Peter Steele died, at the age of 48, and we uncovered an interview from back in 2003 with the enigmatic frontman. Enjoy!

I love how Peter was totally himself and super sarcastic as per usual. He had fun with the interview. Not so sure if the interviewer was vibing with the type of humour Peter had though, which makes it slightly painful to listen to, but still made me laugh. I love Peters sense of humour. RIP

This interviewer is so repulsive, but the ability that Peter has to keep resilient and grounded and not lose his cool is astounding. This man is very in tune and has taught me so much about how to handle adversity.

This interviewer is lacking depth and intellect, but Peter was his usual sarcastic self.❤

Talk about a dimwitted, obtuse interviewer! Peter was his humorous, sarcastic self and did his best to make the interview interesting. The questions were dry, predictable and dull; the interviewer was rude, boring and completely lacked any sort of wit or humor. Pete did the best he could with the questions he was asked.

I couldn’t agree more! That’s honestly the worst interview I’ve ever heard! That kid needs to find another hobby or profession before someone knocks his ignorant ass out! & it will happen with some musician having a bad day or being completely exhausted from playing & doing interviews all day long & get this goof & KABOOOM!!!

There are times that even I have wondered what it would be like where law could be on hold and Pete could just knock an interviewer in the nose without consequence.

I've always said that Life is Killing Me should have been titled The Dream Is Dead. 10 years later it's great that Peter can still make me giggle from the grave. RIP even though I know you won't.

By listening to this interview, the interviewer is really testing the limits with this legend. I wouldn’t fault Peter for punching him in the face. Peter has some really dark and epic analogies. I find it so brilliant, along with his honest humour. Miss you Peter Steele. 🖤🖤🖤💚💚💚

Why do some journalists constantly use run on sentences? The questions were frustrating me so I can only imagine how Peter felt. I enjoyed hearing Peters voice but the questions presented to him stunk. I would have run circles around that ‘interviewer’ until he choked on words he never heard of. His tone and approach for a 35 year old interviewing an artist was completely annoying. 🤬

“This is a very complex question. You have an unusual gift of combining 3 to 4 questions within one sentence.” .... thanks for the upload, but this is probably the worst interview of Peter I’ve ever heard or read. Sincerely, fan since 1993.

THANKS for sharing this, always great to have more. (unlike the people doing nothing but complaining in the comments). Some good dry humor being exchanged between Pete and the interviewer. They said it was an interview being done for radio clips, meaning you aren't going to hear the questions being asked and the person didn't need to be "charismatic". Overprotective Type O fans are the worst lol. Please don't hesitate to release anything else in the future just because you get a comments section full of bile for your trouble. Some of us are actually grateful and appreciate this stuff being posted.

I wish Josh & Kenny would've kept type O's sound going. I was in jail when Pete died. It was weird. Around the day that he died, I was just wanting to hear Type O. When I got out of jail, I immediately found out that Pete had died days earlier.

Clearly the interviewer was not up to date with the person he was interviewing - but he also had stumbled in on Peter who to me has the dry mouth and slightly abrasive style he had when struggling more with himself. And I wrote that before Pete proclaimed he was drunk.. Despite his attempts to the contrary he was a very interesting and sweet man - just got lost in not believing it.Interestingly Peter shifts to actually being open half way through - and then gives a really good insight into his passion and knowledge -

I was at this show at the Starland Ballroom in March 2007. The place was soooo packed. Could barely move on the floor. HOWEVER the floor did open up a bit when some guy decided to bang his girlfriend about 2 feet from me. And a few feet from the stage. And I still have the shirt.
